Review summary

We have sailed Carnival many times in the past. This time the food was terrible, rotten bananas, hard melons....dry chicken and beef....no good choice of vegetables...some stuff overcooked and over spiced. The entertainment was low class. Singers were extremely loud and distorted...and the man sang flat. The Piano Bar, same problem, the man could not sing. The guitar guy was just ok. Certainly not what we were used to. The Casino is overcharging us by about double what we charged, and we think their machines are messed up. They had one charge for $1200, which is ridiculous and we are challenging their charges. Our word against theirs, it looks like. Who would charge $1200 on a machine at one time???? It doesn't even make sense. We will not sail Carnival again if they don't fix this problem. Too many other ships to go on. We hear that Royal Caribbean is much better. The only reason we didn't give it the worst rating, was because the staff was friendly, polite and helpful. We had the same broken piece of soap for the whole cruise....they changed it on the last day. The shower got stopped up and had to be cleaned out, but they did take care of it quickly. They use the cheapest of everything from towels, soap and food. They don't give you a clean razor as they have in the past. Just cheap all the way around.
