Embarkation/disembarkation We arrived at the port... by missys03
Sail date: /Ship: Carnival Conquest
Embarkation/disembarkation We arrived at the port around 10 am and it was very organized in regards to checking in. After they checked us in we waited in a seating area for about an hour before boarding began. Getting off the ship was a breeze. We carried our own luggage so when our deck was called we walked right off the ship. Room/Deck 7-201 We had a room all the way forward on the ship under the bridge. It was very quiet and away from all the normal hallway noise. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We had some issues with our refrigerator, but our room steward promptly had it changed out. Deck 7 was perfect because 2 floors either down or up and we were in the middle of the fun. Food We only ate in the dining room our 1st night and stuck to the buffet the remaining nights. Food was ok and as long as you aren’t expecting gourmet then you will be fine. The iguana grill was my favorite with taco salads and breakfast burritos. What I liked about this ship were the many choices in dining options without all the up charging. We were bummed we didn’t get around to Guys Burgers but they looked delicious. I wish it were open past 6pm. Drinks This ship has bars galore. My favorite is the Alchemy Bar. Best martinis I have ever drank and the staff is amazing. We were locals there along with many others. I did t purchase drink package, but might have been a good idea. Beers are not cheap at $6 average and mixed drinks/martinis are $12 avg. (they automatically tack on gratuity) It all adds up very fast. Experience I have sailed Carnival several times and also sailed on Princess and Royal Caribbean. My expectations were not extremely high, but this trip exceeded my expectations and I would happily sail on this ship again. My mom and I kept saying how impressed we were with everything. The staff went above and beyond to get to know you and this really makes a difference. It was definitely more of a party ship than some of the other cruise lines, but I had tons of fun. There is something to do non-stop and I highly recommend watching the lip sync battle. Well done!! On a side note, if I were planning on taking the kids, I would opt for one of Carnival’s bigger ships. This ship didn’t have tons of options for the kids other than water slide and very small pools. We were docked next to Carnival Vista and that would be way to go. Ports Grand Turk- We spent the day at Jacks Shack. It was a short walk down the beach and worth it. Great drinks and the owners are super nice. Seaweed was bad on the island so water wasn’t as pretty as pictures I’ve seen, but not bad. Half moon Cay- I want to go back as soon as possible. The most amazing beach with the prettiest water I’ve ever seen. The tender process wasn’t too painful but I recommend getting tender sticker early in morning. Nassau- We had been here several times so went to the Queens Staircase and spent rest of day in bars.
