Review summary

We really enjoyed the cruise, for the most part (they could use some more smoking areas though, only one inside and two outside). I had a real issue with though. When I called up to ask questions about the cruise, the agent offered to book it for us. While she was doing that I questioned an offer I saw on their website offering (among other offers) $750 onboard ship credit for booking this cruise. She said she didn't know anything about it, but they were offering up to $300 (we only got $125 for a balcony suite). A couple of weeks later I was printing out my documents and saw that offer still on their website. I called her back. She put me on hold, then came back and told me that was only if you booked online. I KNOW she knew that when I questioned her on the phone the first time, she just wanted her commission or whatever. On top of that, I emailed her about that other $125 credit, because I didn't see it anywhere, TWICE and she NEVER answered me! I will never book with them again, they're too dishonest for me.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was subpar, food not hot and tough. Pancakes hard as rocks. Steakhouse and sushi were great, Monet for dinner was good, Renoir for breakfast awful.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The main pool had some fun entertainment. We didn't do anything else

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The music throughout the ship was good, never saw any shows

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was very friendly

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean, but to try and navigate around and figure out which elevators went to zero deck for excursions or which elevators went to which floors for navigating around the ship was extremely frustrating.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was clean and a good size, the balcony was a great size and private

Grand Turk Island

The weather and water were wonderful

San Juan, Puerto Rico

The weather and the diver were great. I can't remember his name, but he has dreadlocks and just turned 50. The water was so murky I lost him several times. He called out he found turtles, but I couldn't see him or the turtles in all the murkiness. That was disappointing.

Sapphire Beach was great! It wasn't like other snorkeling excursions. You could choose to relax on the beach or snorkel. Unfortunately, the snorkel gear was awful. The lifevests wouldn't hold air, the fins wouldn't stay tight, and my mask wouldn't seal. Friends who brought their own masks saw some beautiful stuff I couldn't swim out far enough to see without gear. I did get to see some iguanas though!!!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

This was a fun trip with some good food. Watch out for the sneaky cigar salesman though. He told us to give him $100 for a great deal on cigars no one could know about. He put it right in his pocket, then proceeded to have his employee ring us up for $50.

This was a smooth transition
