Review summary

This was our second Carnival cruise. Having recently sailed NCL and Royal Caribbean we love all three but find the service, food and entertainment is best on Carnival at least for the ships we have sailed so far.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Arrived around 11:30. Took maybe fifteen minutes to checkin and clear security.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was consistently great every night. Our server team got to know us and would bring our usual drinks and food items without being asked.

Steakhouse

4 out of 5

Meals were very good and service excellent but we missed our MDR service team. If your looking for a romantic evening or celebrating a special occasion its worth the cost, otherwise I’d skip it.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Night time options were excellent but not much to do during the day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Loved the comedians each night. By end of cruise there was standing room only. Main shows were largely same as we saw a few years back on Imagination so we were disappointed in lack of variety. That said the shows were much better performed than recent sailings with Royal and NCL.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every crew member seemed genuinely happy and was very friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very interesting ship to walk around. It doesn’t photograph well but its truly beautiful on the inside. There was a few areas that showed there age, namely the back pool with seafood shack had a lot of rust and the roof leaked near seafood shack as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great space and lots of storage. Location made getting around very easy.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

2 out of 5
Clean. Felt safe. But we had no interest in excursions offered and not much to do besides sit on the beach.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Disembarkation

Easy process but a bit slow.

Carnival is great, we always enjoy it, and liked this ship, especially aft adults only pool! Celebrity has superior main dining room food in our experience, but you pay more, the martini bar and comedy on carnival are better.

We were on the Conquest lastarch and out of our 10 cruises that was a favorite. We didn’t care much for the shows but that’s not why we cruise. The ship has beautiful decor, especially deck 5, the Sunflower Atrium. The food In MDR was absolutely delicious every night and we also had yummy breakfasts there each morning. Our cabin was in the perfect location, close to elevator and took us down right to MDR. Our daughter and her family were in cabin next to us and the cabin steward was able to connect our balconies and we had one huge balcony. It was great, All our ports were fantastic. Loved it
