Review summary
Dear Carnival Team, My name is Ashley, and I am writing with a heavy heart. I was supposed to attend my vacation on August 31, 2019, on the Conquest. However, Hurricane Dorian came and ruined any plans. My cruise was not canceled by Carnival, but a series of events occurred after Hurricane Dorian. First my flight was canceled, thus I could not make it to Miami. Driving was not an option for us either. My boyfriend who was planning to purpose to me on this cruise, has server anxiety. He has lived through h Hurricane Andrew and lost everything due to this. The media made Hurricane Dorian seem to be worse than Hurricane Andrew. My boyfriend had no desire to get in the sea with such a big hurricane. He was traumatized and in tears that we couldn’t get to go on this cruise where we planned to make new memories. During this time we lost a family member, who was also affected by Hurricane Dorian. She was our aunt who was a family pillar to us. I work in an office job, and I work 3 jobs just to make ends meet. I planned this vacation for a year, and I felt blessed that I got a deal through the travel agency Cruzvtt. We had to attend a timeshare presentation, one in which we could not afford but was given a free cruise. I was tricked into this free cruise; however, I ended up paying $1100 with the idea that I got a discount. When I looked upon Carnival I was really paying the same price. I’ve been on a rollercoaster ride trying to get some services to help my situation. The fine print in the case has tricked us, but due to the circumstance, we would have made our cruise if not for Hurricane Dorian got in our way. I am not looking for my money back but simply looking to take my 7-Day cruise to the island I desired. I have cried for weeks because I have nothing to look forward to. This cruise was my one big escape from life. Now with dealing with our death of the family, I can’t find anything to look forward too. All I want was to reschedule my cruise due to the circumstances that were out of my control. Poor customer services and I regret ever supporting this Carnival cruise line in my past four cruises. Thank you, AshleyEmbarkation
