Carnival Review Septmeber 21, 2014 by anniemoore

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I liked the cruise on the Carnival Breeze that sailed on September 21, 2014.  We thought that the Breeze's deck plan layout was a bit confusing.  Our balcony suite was on deck 7, mid ship but we were always getting lost as we navigated to the Sapphire Dining Room that was located on the opposite side of the ship.  It would have been more convenient for us to have our Dining Room assignment on the same side of the ship.  As compared to other Carnival ship, the Breeze was definitely a larger ship, but not as well put together.  Since this ship is new, the passengers should not be seeing rust on the exterior of the ship or carpet that is not properly glued down in the Dining Room.  As for service, the stateroom steward was great.  The waiter team in the Dining Room was just okay with the exception of Rosanna that served us on Sunday and Monday evening. The shows In the Ovation lounge on Sunday and Monday were about the same and were so-so. We never bother going back the remainder of the cruise.  Glad there was the alternate Dive-In Movie that we caught the other two evenings.  On debarkation, we had to leave the stateroom by 8:30 a.m. and sit in the Ovation lounge to wait until our tag number was called.  We were tag # 27 and it was never called so we debarked along with the last numbers called since we had to catch transportation home.   Overall, my husband and I would like to give the Breeze another chance if the customer service improves.

Excellent service and great food!!! by teresalee8764

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We've cruised with Carnival before.  It seems the cabins on the Breeze were smaller than on the other ships we've been on.  The food and service in the Sapphire dining room with Rosanna, Jobert, and Rommel was superior! The food everywhere was great on this ship!  We loved the Thrill Theatre!  And even if you're older, take a ride down the twister slide!!!  It was so much fun!  Snorkeling at Gibbs Cay in Grand Turk was wonderful!  Herdeeko was a fabulous guide, and taught me to snorkel even though I was totally inexperienced!  Overall, it was a wonderful trip!

Frequent Carnival Cruiser by lewisnc1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This has been my 13th Carnival Cruise of at least 7 days or more.  This was our first on a ship that included the water park and rope course.  As a single father of a 10 year old boy, my son had plenty to do and I got the much needed rest and relaxation that I looked forward to and possibly even deserved.  We had one service breakdown but I try not to let that impact our whole trip.  Highly recommend this ship and Carnival to anyone.

Worth the price paid for this cruise... by Paganson1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is a beautiful and large vessel which by design allows many passengers on board to enjoy all the venues without feeling crowded and having a good time which you expect when you are on a cruise.  Plenty of variety in entertainment and good food in the various restaurants on board, both the ones included in the cruise price and those that you pay for a more elegant meal.  The crew is friendly and accommodating to the passenger's needs and always addressing you by your name once they have had contact with you from the first time.  I will definitely do another cruise on this vessel.

Good not great by Xtina

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Last year (September 2013) we sailed on the Carnival liberty. The staff was so nice attentive and accommodating. We had a wonderful trip! So for this years vacation, it was the first and only choice to book another carnival cruise.

We sailed on the Carnival breeze September 2014. Right off the bat we noticed a huge difference in customer service from last year. Staff was inattentive and almost verging on rude. One staff member  from the shops, whose name I regrettably forgot to take down, was particularly rude. When I expressed disappointment  about a certain item having been sold out, he proceeded to give me am anecdote about the time he went to Universal Studios and had a horrible time. Despite having had a horrible time he told me he made no complaints to staff because his horrible vacation was not the staffs fault ( which to me felt like he was clearly telling me to stop complaining) .

Another issue we had was a leak in our room. We went down to guest relations to make a complaint and was met with more unhelpful staff. The customer service was truly lacking on this cruise...

We tried our best to push these issues to the side and had a great time. The entertainment was really nice and the food was pretty good. All in all, the boat itself was good not great.

Ship nice looking. Not wheelchair friendly at all. Had to use a wheelchair entire trip.  Pool area very difficult to manouver  room doors way too narrow. Room service had a hard time getting tray through door.

Very, very loud music. Boo mind into room way past midnight every night

guest services friendly room attendants and waiters friendly.  Pool area help not too friendly or helpful.

Beautiful Ship, wonderful crew! Everything was very nice.  The only thing I would change if I could would be the set dinner times.  I prefer the freestyle dining.  Especially loved the Hamburger Joint on the Lido deck.  The shows were also great!

Family Fun on the Carnival Breeze 2014 by desilva55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Breeze a fun ship by far.  This is my second time cruising on the Carnival Breeze.  The vacation was great, from the moment my feet touched the Beautiful Ship.  I love the staff of people on the ship. My stateroom was always clean, beyond my expectations.  The party started right away for all the fun people on the ship.  We were a three generation family traveling together, everyone had what they needed to have major fun!  The Cruise Director Matt was for the people, he knew how to make the cruisers happy.  The Director Matt was on his job, no matter the age group.  We enjoyed dinning at the Blush restaurant, and food was very good, and on time.  Joseph was the head waiter for our great table.  We had a beautiful view of the ocean where our table was located.  My family enjoyed dinner at the specialty restaurant,The Fahrenheit 555  Streak House, fine dinning for sure.  I highly recommend dinning at the Fahrenheit 555, you would love it.  Happy

We had an awesome experience this was our second cruise and we truly enjoy it.

The comedy show was really great

and that Orlando was very fun and social too.. great attitude.

The food was great, enjoy the mini golf and the guys burger place

Had a nice time at the sit down dinner at nights

and the club was fun too ... but too much hip hop.... for my taste

The pizza place by the pool, provided good pizzas especially the mushrooms one.

We were treated very nice by Marin at the Tides far he had always a smile on his face and excellent customer service with great attitude.

Our cabin staff was very nice and always aware of our necessities, loved does little towel animals, always fun to see. thanks for an awesome experience, I forgot his name but he is from Colombia.

Thanks for everything.

Karen and Lenar

Enjoyed the trip by romyneil2013

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My wife and I felt that the staff were tired or exhausted from their jobs which reflects back to the customer, they were all very good but lacked the desire to interact with clients. Also the dining seating we had was not very good, too close to the kitchens and away from the action, also the A/C seemed too cold. Apart from that we had a great time and we would travel with you again. Neil, Romy  Groves

Its a breeze for the crew members by SailorGirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my first time cruising Carnival.  We have cruised 8 or more times on Royal before and thought I would finally give Carnival a shot - specifically because they offered 4 Caribbean ports I had never been to.  I decided you definitely only get what you pay for, and now that I know, Ill save Carnival for bare minimum cruises and last minute trips.

The ship was clean - simple, nice, beachy decoration.

The food was good - especially the dinners at Fahrenheit555 which were amazing - the burrito place and tandoor Indian food were delish too!  Pizza was great at 330am after a late night in the club.

Sushi was enh - not bad but not good...basic.  Skipped the Italian place, and BBQ - which I heard was yummy - and missed Guys burgers unfortunately but I heard crazy calorie counts!!

Dining room service was part of what killed it.  We had one great waiter and the rest just walked around you or stared at you.  Dinners were definitely better than brunch or breakfast when they made you feel as it was a chore to serve you.  Bummer :(  And our whole table - 5 sets or 2 that were strangers till that morning felt that way. Buffet was too confusing in the layout.  I understand what they were going for in design but it became complicated.

Our room attendant was awesome!  Always on top of everything!  However we were in a room next to where the room attendants store their carts at night... don't do it!!  Starting at 7a every morning slamming doors, noisy carts, filling glasses, scooping ice!!  OMG the ice scooping in the glasses right outside our door at 7am on a ship that promotes late night party!!  I spoke to an attendant one morning - not ours - and mentioned the noise, he told me to complain, nothing he could do?!

Guest services - very helpful.

Cruise director Matt and Orlando - both very charming and fun to watch.

Cruise shows were pretty rough - high school quality - they should spend more time practicing and less time cruising.  Guest acts were all great - comedians, juggler, hypnotist.

Bartenders at piano bar and liquid nightclub were awesome!! They knew my name and drink, although I always changed, from day one...that is great service...they saved it for me!!!

Overall the cruise was good - I am actually easy to please, it was my mother who was the tough sell!!

My biggest complaint was the overall quality of customer service from the general crew members.  No eye contact or hellos.  I was skipped twice by crew members in line.  You were only addressed if called.  One shop guy walked away from me as I was asking a question bc of a higher watch sale - I only needed a minute. After a few of these situations they all highlighted themselves.  Some retraining and attention to the "guest" detail of the cruise may be in order.

You asked for specific and honest!

Best Vacation EVER!! by msimpson6485

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We really enjoyed this cruise.  This was my fourth cruise, and the best yet.  Loved the ship.  Enjoyed the on board entertainment.  We had a balcony room.  Our first time cruising with a balcony room, not sure I want to ever cruise without a balcony again.  Our room steward was amazing.  Dining room staff was also wonderful.  The only thing that had a little room for improvement was the food.  A couple of meals that we had weren't the best.  Still the experience was great overall.  I really enjoyed all of our ports of call.  Grand Turk is the smallest, so we took a tour that we bought after we got off the ship.  Enjoyed it very much.  In LaRomona we went for the resort day.  We went all inclusive.  Drinks were great, the lunch was just okay.  Overall this was a nice excursion.  Curaceo was a very nice stop, and beautiful at night.  We also took a tour there that we did not book from the ship.  Great tour.  Aruba is beautiful.  We did the sail and snorkel.  Loved it.  Catamaran was so much fun.  This cruise was worth every penny.  Definitely would recommend this cruise.

Very nice ship but the shows were the same as we saw last year on the GLORY. by ritacco5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed the cruise alot.  The staff was great and we always love cruising on Matt's ships.  We really

enjoyed the dance classes.  The shows were all exactly the same as we saw on the Glory last year.  They were good but redundant for us.  The food was exceptional.

The ship was awesome,so was the food! This was our first cruise and it won't be our last! We especially were impressed with the staff! The months they work and their superior attitude was amazing! Ed our housekeeper was so helpful to us rookies! Evelyn Tan,a bartender was soo energetic and fun! Being our first cruise we were apprehensive about shore excursions, but with the help of your crew they went smoothly. Once again your staff makes your ship! To them we thank!!:)

Best cruise ever! by cheryllomax

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This ship is totally awesome! Staff was friendly and courteous. The food was absolutely, positively delicious!!!! Our stateroom was both roomy and comfortable with lots of storage and closet space. My only complaint would be that we did not port long enough in San Juan and the Port at Grand Turk was far too crowded with two Carnival ships there at the same time.

80 percent of people we talked to disliked this cruise because you stopped caring about the customer. by joanepooh3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

you could tell by your employees how bad you are running your Co. Not One had a smile on their face unless it was forced. You did not even offer something to drink before dinner! 12 and 14 year old children drunk every night wandering the ship 2:00 A.M. . 4700 people on the ship and 6 washers and 12 dryers .Really!  That is why I saw the children 2:00 A.M. because that was the only time I could do my wash. While I was doing our wash there was one family that said they have sailed with you for 20 years and they are a huge group... They said it was the last sailing with you. Another Couple said they were on their honeymoon and wish they could get off the ship . That they would never sail with you again. You cut back on everything . I brought friends and family to have a great time we got up early on the last day just to be the first off your ship. NEVER AGAIN !!! I have seen this with so many Co. When you make the customer last it won't be long when people when they leave you. So enjoy your bottom line. Good bye. The Taylor/ McNelly familys

Carnival Breeze Cruise by jmikei726

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is beautiful and all of the crew members were very friendly and helpful. Our waiters in the dining room (Blush), Dennis and I believe it was Wayan, were fantastic. There was plenty to do on board however, a few too many photographers that wouldn't let you walk by without stopping you. The only other complaint I would give is that the debarkation process was very long and uncomfortable.  We had to wait for three hours in a theatre while cartoons played and there was nothing to eat or drink.  Some complimentary snacks would have been nice.  It seems if you are late in the debarkation process, you could wait in your room while the early passengers get off the ship and their rooms are cleaned.  All in all, it was a very enjoyable cruise and compared to other vacations, was the best value one could find.

Very nice ship. The décor was very nice. The food was not up to what it should have been for what we paid for this trip.. The captain & crew done a great job. The islands were good. I will never go to the La Romana, Dominican Republic again. That is a waste of time for anybody. To dangerous.
