Caribbean Princess by cruiserbill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Nice ship and good service with professional staff. Some things missing: no entertainment by staff in dining room; no fancy napkins on the table; no towel art in the stateroom.

Always happy with Princess!!! by TracyDeese

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our 4th cruise with Princess. We've cruised on The Grand, Emerald, Ruby and now the Caribbean. We were upgraded from a ocean view on the Plaza deck to a balcony on the Rivera deck cabin R209. The room was in great shape forward of the ship. Very quiet room, and our room steward was very nice. I had my travel agent request the upgrade, and I believed it happened because I called Princess a few days prior to sailing, to ask if the upgrade confirmed. I explained I was traveling with my parents who also cruise Princess, and are Platinum level. The agent advised no upgrade was available and it would cost for the upgrade. I declined and to my surprise the upgrade was there when we arrived. The ship was in good shape, the food was excellent. I enjoyed both ports. Aruba was beautiful!! I really enjoyed this itinerary only having two stops besides the private island. I have read reviews in the past where someone always had something negative to say. I have never had any problems with Princess and have enjoyed all my cruises with them. Maybe I'm too laid back of a person or don't expect a lot, but Princess has never failed us!! Just lay back and enjoy your cruise people. :)

Expensive trip by BenVK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Gratuities should not be mandated by the cruise line but should be left at the disgression of the customer. Every time you turn around there is a fee for something. You cannot even get a softdrink unless you pay for it, I am not talking about alcoholic drinks. We have been on many all-inclusive trips and did not have to pay for them. The excursions are too expensive you can do much better for them by the locals when on shore.

beautiful clean and friendly by joylees

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We all enjoyed the cruise it was a family vacation and we all loved it. The staff was willing to go out of their way to make you happy. Food was great, Rooms were well kept and room attendant was great. Bar staff was out going and friendly. Waiters were great in the main dinning. Only things I did not like was there was no smoking on one side of the ship by the pool which made it very inconvenient to spend time with you family when you are not all smokers. Felt it was very limited smoking areas. The head bar staff around the pool need to talk to the staff privately they were not very professional when they need to talk to them they were mean to the servers. I felt as a guess you should not see or hear this conversation. They were the head people walking around in suits and they did not try to serve you just bark out orders to staff which I felt was unprofessional. I am on vacation and do not want to hear that. They should remove themselves from the public eye to speak to the employees.

Caribbean Princess - Southern Cruise by caribbeancruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a great time on our cruise, loved visiting the beaches in Aruba, weather was awesome!!! However, was disappointed with stateroom cleanliness. Fridge was dirty, previous guests dirty socks were still in our dresser and bathroom still had hair on towels etc. We have cruised twice before with Carnival and in comparison we like Carnival better. Our kids missed having towel animals in the stateroom every night along with choc chip cookies. All the little extras were not done with Princess. The staff were great, as always, friendly and courteous towards our needs but I would rate this cruise as average. Entertainment was ok but nothing out of this world. I guess it depends on what your used to, but comparing to other cruises this one rates lower for us for sure. We love to cruise but next time will try Royal Caribbean or Carnival.

Liked the ease of boarding and luggage delivered in a timely fashion. Food in every area was very good. Entertainment every night was great. Weather cooperated and was the smoothest cruise we have ever taken.

Great Cruise by pjb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our second time on the Carribean Princess. We were not dissapointed. The service was excellent as always, the food was very good but they need to expand the seating in the two specialty restuarants. They were sold out by the third day. Do the pub lunch, true English fare. Not a cruise for young children, no water slide, rock wall, or other activities for kids and teens.

Very good trip, in a nice ship, with interesting destinations and formal staff by OscarRojo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

the ship was nice, clean, well indicated and confortable. the captain was very communicative and provided valued information, though he did not show up too much. the stewardess. Homer, was ver helpfull, always smiling, and making all efforts to make our trip more enjoyable. the waiter at the main restaurant, marshall, was also very kind and efficient, though majorly serious, but was really efficient. the rest of the staff was quite formal and serious, maintainig limits, they were helpfull though not very much friendly and rather distant. in our experience, the straff in our previous trip with this same ship was very much joyfull and friendly, the same as in other cruises.

Great Cruise by cruisincousin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Most enjoyable, few complaints. There were long waits for tables in the dining room, Princess needs to devote more space to anytime dining. The range of activities onboard could be more varied, but the service all around was top notch.

Fun in the sun by kda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Caribbean Princess is a beautiful ship. The service is outstanding with about a 3 to 1 ratio guest to crew. The quality of the food service is better than average for the industry.

very relaxing and enjoyable by ggandgranny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

my husband and our very good friendsfor a very long time, a married couple agree it was among our favorite trip. the boat was very clean and effort to keep it thia way was clear. esp. liked the hand washing availabilty before getting food from buffet, restrooms and for hands using door handles, the meals were exceptionally good, we choice anytime meals and was never disappointed, the service from the employees was delivered with smiles, and obliging with extra requests. didn't enjoy caring cup purchased for drinks, husband drinks alot of cokes, need more seating somehow in shade for movies offered on deck. movie choices were good. overall we would definetly recommend this cruise line and would use them again.

This Itinerary has improved from last year by ramnh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Took the same itinerary with Princess last year and was not very happy with some of the services received. However, this year Princess really stepped it up a few notches. Food in both the dinning room and the buffets were very good in both presentation and taste. Of course, the snacks between meals like pizza and ice cream always make the day go faster (have to get to the gym). Princess Cay was very nice. Suggest that you reserve a "claim shell" so that you can get out of the sun for awhile. I would also suggest that you bring water shoes as the first 10 yards is a little rocky. Cancun is always a great experience and the beaches are very nice. Would like to worn first time visitors to stay on the right side of the right side of the island as the left "Howard Johnson" side does have some questionable areas that while probably safe during daytime could make some uncomfortable. Our favorite island is Aruba. There are some good value tours like the island waterpark and helmet dive. Great trip.

Great Week in the Caribbean by Live2cruise1058

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I was pleasantly surprised about the stop at Princess Cays. We enjoyed the beach there immensely. Had some good snorkeling, it was possible to relax in the shade or in the sun which ever you wanted. Also enjoyed the other other two stops. Snorkeling the ship wreck in Aruba was awesome a must do adventure. The entertainment on board was great and the food was as good as always. I would do this cruise again!!!!

Very Good, But not the Best by TheRightWay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed our cruise very much. The weather was beautiful as was the private island. We liked the service and the food was good(except for the beef, which was tough) The ship was spacious and had most amenities. My wife enjoyed the zumba classes even though they were crowded. On the other side--places were crowded and often not enough seats were available. We encountered lines to eat and to get off in one of the ports. Roger Wright

Southern Carribean Cruise by bandbcruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Enjoyed myself on this cruise, we have been on the ship before. the entertainment was wonderful, especially Bert Stratton. The Staff really make the cruise wonderful, very attentive and thoughtul. The ports were interesting and well organized and priced well. We wre disappointed in Curacao, the shops closed early and arrived later into port. All in all, a very good experience.

SAD, SAD Ending to an otherwise good cruise!!! by DeltaFox

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Caribbean Princess ship is just average as cruise ships go. The Food was good generally and one night it was excellent. I like being able to order omelets for breakfast, and the sea food dinner and escargot was excellent. Generally the service around the ship was very good, and always friendly. A couple of the waiters in the the Island Dinning room had serious problems communicating with their broken English. We were on the 'Anytime' Dinning plan and would not do that again. Some nights we had to wait up to 30 minutes to be seated, and we were willing to sit with other parties. There was not 'really' a walking area on board the ship for walkers. They used the 7th and 8th decks as a make shift walking area, but it was also inhabited by runners, smokers, workers and loiters. Going up and down the stairs on each cycle is not good for senior walkers. We arrived at the pier at 2:30 PM for the embarkation and getting aboard was fast and easy. Unfortunately getting off the ship was a nightmare. Between Princess and Customs we stood in lines dragging all of our baggage for 40 minutes and then had no place to put the luggage while we got out car for pick up. We had a 10:10 schedule debarkation and finally got our luggage in our car about 12:15. Guess what we were fighting lines of people boarding the ship for the next cruise. I will not cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale again. This was a SAD, SAD ending to an otherwise good cruise.
