enjoyed the ports we visited.  our stateroom was as expected. balcony was a plus (first time with this) the food was so so not the best we have had on other cruises.  the wait staff made the dinner more enjoyable.Oscar our waiter was great!!

the largest let down was the sales pitch by Irma? half of the day wasted listening how great  the diamond she was wearing and standing in line to receive discounted coupons (this was a joke). the only things received were some small charms (no real value).

mostly likely will go back to Royal Caribbean on our next cruise.

Nice Get-Away by gclark3674

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a "girls" cruise for "over 60's" gals.  Our mini-suite with balcony was especially nice with the extra space for 3 people, larger balcony, and tub/shower combo in the bathroom.  The entertainment was great.  The production show "Piano Man" was one of the best I've ever seen.  The commedian, Al Katz, was really funny, and the singer/ventriliquest, Mike Minor, was awesome.

We took a shore excursion in Grand Cayman to Hell (the devil is a hoot), the turtle farm, rum cake factory (which was really just a store), and Stingray City.  Fantastic day! In Cozumel we took the excursion to Tulum.  The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the site.  You can no longer climb the temple as I had done in years past.  The cruise line lists this tour as "moderately strenuous".  Maybe it is for the younger crowd, but we were whipped when it was over.

I had been on this ship before.  It is lovely, not too big, but lots of activities.  The food was great.  We had "anytime dining" so we could take in an early show or a late one, and work our activities around  our own dining preferences.

Eastern Caribbean Dream! by deadeyedowding

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

With an upgraded balcony cabin, our trip couldn't have been better! Beautiful weather, ports and people! The staff was amazing in every way...from our cabin steward  Rodrigo, to the waiters and waitresses in the main dining hall. Food was always great looking and delicious!

Caribbean Princess does a great job at keeping people busy from forward to aft, morning to night.

Highly recommend a balcony room for great sight seeing, for waking up in the morning with room service, or a romantic night at sea.

Enjoyed the many pools on board, and the endless food available...the food in the buffet always had a good selection too.

Can't wait to book our western trip next year!

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Great cruise.  Second time on Caribbean princess.   Ship was very clean, staff friendly, food good.  We should  have stayed for the specially priced 5 day cruise after offered!    Weather was excellent.   Smoothest seas ever.  Great snorkeling on Grand Turk and Princess Cays.

good value by sunandpalmtrees

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

she was a nice boat, outdated but clean and in good repair

food was a solid 7-8. Better than some but could have been

a knotch or two better.  Good choices. Felt that they should have

a better salad bar at lunch time, I felt poor choices of topping and

dressings.  If you wanted to eat healthy ;)

Staff was a tad thin, but they ones on the ship were super nice

and helpful and attentiveHappy

Cruise review by hoganluu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Over all enjoyed the cruise, with the exception of weather in the southern Caribbean, the humidity was too high.  The balcony cabin was a little below our expectation, perhaps it is time for the ship to go in refurb.

Expected better from Princess by mmuscle99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Not all happy with the Caribbean Princess ship at all.  First and probably the worst, the shipped smelled of sewer gas.  We that it was Ft. Lauderdale but was the whole trip!  The entertainment was not the same as the Ruby Princess.  There singers was very hard to listen too, sounded like Karaoke singers. There comedian was just awful.   Food was not as good as the Ruby Princess.  The glass around the pull area and the balconies looks like they have not cleaned it in years.  The glass had paint over spray all over it making the view poor, water spots and even feet prints all over them.  The ship was not dirty just not maintained.  We had a balcony on the 10th floor and it was very large and probably the nicest part of the trip.  Dj Kev was great, he played some good music by the pool.  The Pool water was greasy and not clear.  The service on the ship was very good and friendly though. Costa Maya is a very poor area with a lot of sea grass all through the water making hard to enjoy or even snorkel.  Cozumel was not too bad but no free beach area, they make you pay a lot of money to go to a beach.  Would not go back to this ship or these ports again.

Yep I'd go again twice!!! by LaWanda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First of all has the deals!  We got a 5 night cruise for two people for under $900 in a 12th floor balcony suite.  There was very little to complain about.  5 amazing restaurants on board.  Great entertainment, wonderful pools and spas, decent nightclub, great drinks, the 24 hour International Cafe with the best Mozerella, Tomato sandwiches in the world.  The pizza shop of the ship was incredible....Best pizza at sea and the movies under the stars was great.

The ship itself was clean and offered plenty to do both at sea and in port.  We did smell sewage in certain areas of the ship which may be an indicator of an older system. The stateroom was spacious, enough and that balcony...well I won't sail without one again!  We met great new friends and simply put, had a marvelous time.  We're on the prowl for our next excellent deal.

A Relaxing and Fun Getaway! by bruceambrose

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

3 time cruiser here and Princess was the best of the 3. With an army of employees stationed at the terminal, getting on and off was a painless breeze. Balcony room had plenty of storage, but shower space must surely be a challenge for bigger folks. Crew was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Definitely enjoyed the coffee select card and the bar at the International Cafe. Main dining was just ok. Specialty dining at The Crown a major disappointment due to long wait between courses and wrong entree delivered to table, plus steak overcooked, we left without ordering dessert. Other folks raved about the place so our experience was probably an aberration. Sabatini's was delightful and delicious - Oxsana the waitress was great. Best shore excursion was the cooking class at Playa Mia resort in Cozumel, a lot of fun, Oscar the chef is a real entertainer who also knows how to cook. The pool with the large screen for movies was a favorite hangout. The art gallery folks were too aggressive for my taste, I don't care for pressure tactics, and besides, a little internet research revealed the exact same item at half the price; fun to browse, but don't push me. The photography folks were awesome, fun, and produced great shots. All in all, a good 5 day getaway from work, at a great price and with good memories.

A Week Aboard the Caribbean Princess by rrforster37

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Caribbean Princess, launched in 2004, has been very well maintained and is a enjoyable experience. The crew is very well trained and all that we chatted with seem to love their job. All aspects of the services provided were very good. Our inside "Handicapped Access" cabin was large enough to accomadate our 2 scooters without impeding our movement within it. The ship is easy to get around in, and has plenty of elevators which insures that waits to change decks are short. We found the food to be above average at both the Buffets and the Dining Rooms. The embarkation and disembarkation experiences were painless and well organized. It has been our experience that Princess has always provided a pleasurable experience, and they did not disappoint us on this our 73rd cruise.

the cruise itself was adequate but the service, food, condition of ship were not up to Princess' standards by myfirsttime

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

this was our first cruise and we enjoyed ourselves. although we had nothing to compare against, we thought some of the food, condition of this ship (carribbean princess) were suspect (which was later confirmed by conversations with very seasoned ELITE Princess cruisers who said they love the Princess cruise line but felt that this particular cruise was not done to their normal high standards...the service seemed distracted (from waitstaff to housekeeping to ship maintenance). we were hoping for a 4 star cruise and felt this one fell short. although disappointed that we missed out on the  known "Princess high level of service), we're open to try another of their cruises...just not on the Carribbean Princess.

Hummm by evavarga10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Old ship. Room needed remodeling.  Dirty. Mirrors balcony. Missing tile in bathroom floor. Smelled like throw up and pee. Drain was clogged.

Disembarkment took about 3 hours from scheduled time. Handicapped. Last ones off boat. Suitcases lost. We're found 1/2 hour later someone picked them up by mistake.

Princess needs help in coordinating things, cleanliness and especially customer service.

Well organised. Extremely friendly staff. Food was awesome. Only one thing, watch your spending at the Casino. When charging on your cruise card you don't realise how much and how easy it is...

Pleasant and relaxing cruise by jacquesantoine4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Refurbished ship with clean interior; very nice, roomy mini suite.

Very good quality food and service, in particular we enjoyed the Internatinal Caffe an adjacent wine bar

under relaxing tones of alterning caribbean steel band and mexican marachi music.  Only the variety of food items could be improved to include more Asian and Latin American and Caribbean cuisine

Fabulous disco on the 18th floor at the rear end of the ship

Is one of our best cruises

Good Time First Cruise by dreed1047

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our trial cruise.  We were not sure what to expect.  I never thought I would enjoy a cruise, but

it was amazing.  I had heard the food was outstanding, but the menu was way beyond what I anticipated.

The breakfasts on the balcony were very relaxing, and the crew were always polite.
