Very good experience on British Isles Cruise on Caribbean Princess

Sail Date: June 13, 2016

Reviewed: 11 months ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

Family of 3 had a mini-suite on Deck 9. Lots of room and large bathroom/tub and large closets. Deck was roomy. Sofa bed was not comfortable so the room steward found an additional mattress for my daughter. Food was really good... room service and dining rooms. Service was really good. Ship was clean. Didn't really use a lot of the outdoor space because of the weather being cool and rainy most of the time. Outdoor movies in the rain/cold was not a smart idea. The shows/performances were good. Could have had more of them. Would definitely recommend for those interested in the British Isles who are not overly formal and want flexibility in their schedules.

Cabin / Stateroom
Good size. Clean. Large bathroom with plenty of storage and large tub/shower area. Large closets. The bed was very comfortable but the sofa bed was terrible. An adult can't sleep on that. We ended up creating a bed on the floor for my 12 year old and got an egg crate from the room sterward to add cushion. Large balcony.

Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Destinations were awesome. We are a late waking family so most of our tours were in the afternoon...which ended up being rushed to get us back to the ship for departures. Would suggest they really track the time to travel to the tour sites and recalculate departure times.

Food and Dining
Southampton (London), England
getting on the ship was the smoothest we have ever had.
St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands
we just walked around the tour. was nice.
Cobh (Cork), Ireland
tour didn't allow time to kiss the blarney stone at the castle.
Dublin, Ireland
we did the U2 tour and it was pretty good.
Belfast, Northern Ireland
we toured the royal mansion and it was nice.
Liverpool, England
The Beatles tour was awesome!!!!
Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland
Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland
we drove for 2 hours to loch ness and castle ruins. NOT one word was shared about Loch Ness/Nessie or the myth or legend. Dissapointing.
South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Scotland
Loved the St Andrews tour!
Le Havre (Paris), France
Normandy tour was awesome.

We used any time dining and only had to wait 3 minutes for a table once. The room service food was really good. So was the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs near the pool. Didn't care for the food @ Vines at all. Room service liquor was small bottles. Why???
