Review summary

Food was good with the buffet often having better food and better variety than dining room. Only problem, they might have an Indian Food night, or Southeast Asian night, so if you don't like those foods, you're out of luck. Entertainment was better than most cruise ships. The elevators are ridiculous with some floors not being accessible from certain floors. Thermal beds in spa area were ok but it was dead quiet in there. Other ships have pleasant massage music playing. They did at the reception desk. Steam rooms were nice.

Onboard Activities

They had bingo 2 nights. Felt they could've done that more. The casino was closed 10 of the 7 days. The "movies Under the stars" was mostly music concerts. The whirlpools are barely warm, like cool bathwater.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We were surprised that quite a few of the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Some of the furniture is quite threadbare. Design: What was the person thinking who designed the way the elevators work? Plus, 2 were Out of Service while we were there. I'd hate to get stuck in one while out at sea!

Cabin / Stateroom

Average. The balcony has a huge obstruction. We asked for footstools for the outdoor chairs like our friends had (no, they did not have a suite, balcony same as us) and they said they could not accommodate us.

Ship tip

Get in shape because you'll be walking stairs or waiting an eternity for elevators.

£1 to catch local bus at pier that goes around this small pretty island with no commentary. None needed.

belfasttours.com, black cab tour, Peter was our guide. £240 can be split. Expensive but the absolute highlight of our trip. He was fantastic, took us to Game of Thrones sites at our request, was a very fun fellow! Highly recommend.

Liverpool, England

A fun place in city center. Walk off the ship and you're there. Super friendly folks.

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

My error we missed our van with Timberbush Tours. They went crazy out of their way to help us! We were so impressed with them that even tho we didn't get to take the tour, they are an upstanding customer oriented company and I would highly recommend them.

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

Scotland was gorgeous

South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Scotland

Pretty exhausting. Bought castle tix in advance online. It was hard to figure out how to get to it. Eventually paid £14 pp senior fare HOHO bus that took us there. Still a lot of climbing. Castle is mostly military, no furniture or "homey" atmosphere.

Le Havre (Paris), France

Went to Normandy, Omaha beach. Very moving. 2 hours each way.
