Need bigger main pool. Over all it was great. Our group had a ball. Excursions went well. Everyone was on time and did what they said they would do.

Poorest food and service that I’ve ever had on a cruise by ChristelY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Too many mistakes on our meals. Had to wait 45 min before we got our appetizer , while the table next to us was seated after we were and got their dessert when we finally got our appetizer. The eggs Benedict I ordered the first morning was made with cinnamon raisen toast. The next day, it wasn’t toasted and the next day, the Canadian bacon was missing. When I ordered room service , I ordered grilled cheese. I got untoasted bread with a slice of unmelted velveeta type cheese on it. Horrid ! Couldn’t get cream in the dining room for coffee. I bought the beverage package. When I asked for fresh squeezed juice, it was met with hesitation and an attitude of hassle. Out of all of my cruises, I’ve never before had a complaint before This.

First Cruise! Maybe Again! by tonitiger7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall we enjoyed our first cruise. It was unfortunate that my sister had a torn meniscus, so it kind of dictated what we could do on the cruise. We will have to try another one when she is more able-bodied. We liked Brilliance of the Seas. Our staff waiting on us were amazing. Food and drinks were wonderful. Can't wait to sail again.

I wouldn’t even give this... by am1an9da

Sail date: /
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

I wouldn’t even give this cruise line 1 Star, but it made me give something. I’m a seasoned cruiser, but RC was a first and it was/has been the worst experience I’ve ever had on a cruise liner. It was dull, boring, and over priced. The food was not that great. Everything shut down at 10pm so you couldn’t even get a midnight snack. There were no laundering facilities. You had to have your laundry done by the staff. A pair of underwear was $5. We would be told a price for an on board activity and charged another. Now, we have been home 2 days and after settling my bill before I left the ship, I am charged an additional $130. For no reason. Save your money. Go to another company because RC is absolutely horrible!

We liked the salt water... by Talullah

Sail date: /
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

We liked the salt water pools in lieu of chlorine and spending time with friends. We had a great time in Cozumel. Trying to focus on the positives here...but this is the last time we will try RC. After 10 cruises on 3 different cruise lines, we are sure - RC is just not our cup of tea.

Food was good in main dining room but entertainment was terrible. Bored to death. I read a whole book while I was there, because entertainment was so bad. Carnival has entertainment 3 times better. by fourpaw62

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Staff and main dining room were good, but if you want outstanding shows, take Carnival.

This ship, being one of... by GaryW

Sail date: /
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

This ship, being one of RCCL’s older and smaller ships, was nice and comfortable. Designed before the cruise lines started to build ships that used every bit of available space, this ship has many wide open comfortable sitting areas on the inside of the ship where you can sit and have a comfortable conversation while looking out the huge windows. The casino even has large windows on both sides so you can enjoy the sea while sitting at the gaming tables (when I’m on a cruise, I always want to feel like I’m on a ship). Some of the newer ships do not have windows in the casinos so you can easily forget that you are on the ocean. The meals in the dining room were quite good and the service was excellent. On the ship, we were always able to find something to eat any time of day or night. Every time we asked each other if we were hungry, the answer was always, “I can eat.” — and we did. The only negatives: unless you are traveling with another party, try not to get a cabin that has a adjoining cabin next door as the door between is very thin and you can hear everything going on next door. Also, try not to get a cabin that is directly below any common area- we were able to hear the click clack of women’s shoes on the wooden door above us. Overall, a comfortable ship and an enjoyable cruise.

Worse cruise I've ever been on. by PamGiesick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship from the start had horrible communication. Food was almost always served cold and wait staff rude. And limited. Many cruises, never this experience. Very poor layout as well. I will never cruise Royal Caribbean.

Eventful by deb74

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very disappointed with the lack of variety with the my time dining and windjammer. Wait staff in my time dinning always seemed rushed and lacked in the personal touches. With going through hurricane michael would have appreciated if the captain would have given more updates, it was for most part communicted through the cruise director. Other than these things we had a good time.

Just got back today from... by kenmosley1004

Sail date: /
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Just got back today from an October 1st sailing. This was our 14th Royal Caribbean cruise on everything from the Majesty to the Oasis and was by far the biggest disappointment. The ship was very clean and the room attendant was great but goes down hill fast from there. The food was really bad. I think I could get better at the local gas station. The wind jammer was tasteless and bad selection. The main dinning room was a 2 1/2 hour ordeal for duck that was SO over cooked. The deserts in both were bad. The consignment people (photos and shops) were unbelievably rude, especially in the photo section. Charges were made to our room on 3 different days that were not ours and just by luck looked at the 1st day to see if we had paid for something or not and saw the first of many errors. Each time they assured us that could not happen. Been loyal to Royal Caribbean for many years but I think Norwegian is going to get a try. Really disappointed!

While the Brilliance is smaller... by babystacie

Sail date: /
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

While the Brilliance is smaller and obviously with less to do, it was still nice. The dining room food was much better than the dining room food was on the Oasis in February. Our cabin steward Jamal (?) was excellent. Embarking was pretty swift but disembarking was so easy and fast, we did self assist but it was much quicker and than the other ships we have been. Only real complaint is, which was not in anyone’s control, was very choppy water due to impending hurricane and we missed our first port, again not RC fault.

A Wonderful Experience All Around by rhartwell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We live in the Tampa area so it was very convenient. Cruising under the Sunshine Skybridge was a delight and we took videos and pictures. We have an oversized balcony room in the rear of the ship which was incredible. We arranged our own snorkeling off of the Westin Resorts and used points for rooms for the day. The Snorkeling off both in Grand Cayman and Cozumel was great, but Cayman had smoother and clearer water and more sea life. Huge Rays and a Hawksbill Turtle.
