Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Review summary

This ship, being one of RCCL’s older and smaller ships, was nice and comfortable. Designed before the cruise lines started to build ships that used every bit of available space, this ship has many wide open comfortable sitting areas on the inside of the ship where you can sit and have a comfortable conversation while looking out the huge windows. The casino even has large windows on both sides so you can enjoy the sea while sitting at the gaming tables (when I’m on a cruise, I always want to feel like I’m on a ship). Some of the newer ships do not have windows in the casinos so you can easily forget that you are on the ocean. The meals in the dining room were quite good and the service was excellent. On the ship, we were always able to find something to eat any time of day or night. Every time we asked each other if we were hungry, the answer was always, “I can eat.” — and we did. The only negatives: unless you are traveling with another party, try not to get a cabin that has a adjoining cabin next door as the door between is very thin and you can hear everything going on next door. Also, try not to get a cabin that is directly below any common area- we were able to hear the click clack of women’s shoes on the wooden door above us. Overall, a comfortable ship and an enjoyable cruise.

One more note: the only congested area on the whole ship was at the buffet area which seemed cramped and too crowded.
