Cool ship, needs upgrading, Special Needs Request Ignored by mtinvt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I placed a SPECIAL NEEDS request 8 MONTHS in advance (I have the email proof) for distilled water, an extension cord and a case of Ensure to be placed in my room.  They were not there when we arrived and was given the brush off by a snotty room steward and front desk staff.  These are necessary for a CPAP/BIPAP machine needed for sleeping, since I stop breathing during the night.  I only received these items AFTER I called Royal Caribbean's Customer Service line from my cell phone on the ship in port at Tampa.....and I've been back for 4 days and I'm still waiting for the case of Ensure.

We will sail with you again by dmcord

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had a great time. Perfect for a short getaway and a time to smell the roses. From what we have heard from others, Royal Caribbean is the best and we believe it.

Wonderful service and very, very pleasant and helpful crew. Specifically want to mention Alina from Romania, a waitress in the dining room, Yara from Panama, housekeeper on deck 9, Susana from Portugal in guest services, Asst waiter in the evening dining room (tall man, bald,) from the Philippines, and the Starlight evening bartender 13th floor. These crew members provided exceptional service and I regret I do not remember the names of the last two.

We would recommend Royal Caribbean to anyone.

We had a great time on the cruise. We went to many of your evening shows and they were all fantastic. We had the 2 best waiters in the room. We sat at table 408 and had Marco and I Wayan. They were Great waiters and very entertaining.

We were in room 4020 and Roger kept our room very clean and took good care of us. He was very personable and always greeting us with a smile.

A wonderful ship with a wonderful crew by clogankiep

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Some of the best room service and dinner service I have ever had. Every ounce of food I had was fabulous and everyone was so happy. The solarium was my favorite place to hang out.

Great Fun by kathienewton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed our cruise. Everyone on the crew was great. We really felt pampered by our stateroom attendant, Foster. He anticipated all our needs, and was ALWAYS there in the area. The food was great, and our wait staff- Caesar & Dario were wonderful as well.

We hope to be on another cruise in the future.

This was my first cruise and I was pleasantly surprised. I never did have a desire to go on a cruise, to be on a ship in the ocean, but I am glad I did it. It was an awesome experience and I definately hope to do it again! The cruiseliner and service was awesome! They treated us so well, were so helpful, and gave us excellent service!

Solarium Pool by gkcrittenden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I almost drown in this pool.  Very dangerious.  Water coming into pool from large tubes make an undertow.  Could not swim to upright myself.  I thought I was going to die.

I am very pleased with the cruise, the staff of Royal Caribbean.  I will plan my next cruise thru and more than likely with another Royal Caribbean line.

Expectations Achieved by schaefcand

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was very surprised and delighted by the high quality of entertainment on this 4 night cruise. That plus excellent DJ's around the pool and the classical midday music in the atrium were wonderful. This was my first cruise in 35 years, not planning to wait another 35 for my next one. Big Smile

Cruising with Mom by jandraf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise was perfect for my mother. It's difficult for her to get around so the one port with lots of shops and beautiful beaches was perfect for her. The age group was OLDER. Therefore the entertainment, food and pace was geared for the retired and up.

Royal Caribbean tends to nickle and dime you as well.

5 Days on the Brilliance of the Seas by TNSnowBird

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Was a tad disappointed we couldn't stop in Key West due to weather concerns.  Obviously not under control of the Captain or Royal Caribbean but what was under they're control was great.  The food was terrific, the service was outstanding and the entertainment was above board.  Nothing bad to be said about this ship nor it's crew.  HAd a great time.

Best cruise ever! by maryilgenfritz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

As this was our honeymoon, we had an even better cruise than we expected!  We work hard for our money and saved all year to take this cruise.  We will be going again next year!!! The ship was beautiful and very clean.  The staff bends over backwards to pamper you and exceeds your every need!  The food was delicious and abundant!  The shows onboard were excellent. The activities were too many to count and all lots of fun!  We met some wonderful people  at dinner, and we were invited to dine with them for the rest of the cruise, which we gladly accepted!  We had the most fun table in the room!   The bsst waiters on the ship!!! They were funny, kind and extremely attentive! Thanks for a GREAT time over all!

Brilliance of the Seas 2016 by frankmaingot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise was great. We have been on quite a few Royal Caribbean cruises and think that our cabin attendant (Alfred) was great and is the best. We felt very lucky because both of our dinner attendants (Mario and Daria) were also very good, they went out of their way to explain all of our options etc.

We were very pleased to see the head Maitre'd Albert came around every night, on our other cruises we only saw the head Maitre'd on one or two nights.

Our only disappointment was not going to Key West.

Great itinerary for a short vacation by bgrvtaylor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall a great itinerary for a short 5 day cruise.  The ships staff was excellent and the activities onboard were good.  Only issue continues to be food which is not that great in the Windjammer.  Breakfast food buffet was cold.  Signature restraurants are excellent.  I'd recommend this cruise.

RCL still has it by rnstan4112

Brilliance of the Seas is a lovely vessel.  Perfect size and in great condition.  Staff and main dining room food was great.  Service at the first morning breakfast in main dining room was poor or the review would have been 5 stars.

Great cruise overall by bmeathome

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Not my first cruise so I knew what to expect from these ports and ship. Staff was friendly and attended to every request I made. Specialty restaurants are a must, especially Giovani's and Chops, but I personally avoid the buffet in the Windjammer. Nothing is wrong with the buffet, I just don't like buffet food. The spa is of good quality, and always a great place to loosen up. Pools tend to be crowded on clear days, but the solarium pool is usually pretty quiet during the day. Do yourself a favor and purchase the drink package. It may be $65 a day, but 100% worth every penny.

Good trip by suzangaw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

loved the ship! Great food, and entertainment. Recommend eating at the buffet. Our cabin was nice but very noisy due to location. It was 7094. Music from the centrum played until midnight . Okay if you want to be kept awake that late. Will get a different cabin more art or forward. Loved the solarium! Enclosed heated salt water pool. Adults only. Snack bar, adult beverages bar, great on a rainy or chilly day! Staff also very helpful and friendly

25th Anniversary Cruise! by joegulledge605

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a GREAT time on the Brilliance of the Seas!  Staff was super and the ship was awesome!  Cruise director Tim Conner was outstanding.  The musicians on the ship were first rate!  The Kronos Band was the highlight musical group for us.  Top 40 charts... they can play anything!  Best 4 piece band I've heard.   Food was good, but not great.  Bar service was exceptional.  Traveled with a group of 18 total and had an outstanding time!
