Children activities for 9yr olds were boring, stateroom shower had lukewarm water, movies shown in the movie theater were too old, bartenders on the whole were rude, onboard activities were mostly unimaginative.

Glad this was NOT our 1st Royal Cruise. by KZAthryn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our cruise started without my seapass being located. Due to this we where put out the entire cruise. We had purchased a beverage package way in advance, but with the card MIA we had to hunt down someone selling the cards, wait in line for them to give me my sticker. (Their error they should have been accommodating and done this) but, it gets worse. This card had a glitch. Day 2 we checked our account and there were 2 drink charges one from pool bar the other from latitudes. Went down to GS, had them fixed, day three again, 2 more charges latitudes and main dishing room! Well you get the picture everyday we had to spend time in line to fix all this. Day 2 went to the art auction..,this was way cool and The staff so warm and knowledgeable. And I won not 1 but 2 drawings..,one was a $50 gift certificate to the spa. And I had a $ 50 coupon for being a loyal Royal traveler. The spa refused to allow me to use them together I was not happy but went ahead and booked my stone massage. I arribved 15mins early as instructed and was hurdled into the waiting area with the other 2pm appointments. I sat there filled out my form and watched everyone else get called for their appointment...yah, not me. At 2:20 I went back up front and told them I no longer wanted the service. The man up front looked at me and said, are you sure you do not want to wait a bit longer, I replied I am very sure and the. He asked me to reschedule for our port day...no thanks. And he then apologized and explained that they got slammed due to the storm cancelling our port. Odd, since my appointment had been booked the day before, when no one knew we would not be able to go into port! Also, when I checked in I was informed my therapist was not in yet? In my 2 visits there to make appointment and this fiasco I saw very hard core sales of their products. Anna the manager, not a nice woman. Royal is either becoming very cheap or the Brilliance is...no lobster night on this cruise the other 7 we had been on always have one lobster night on a formal night. No bar snacks any longer, no captains champagne toast? Main did I get room service was very slow. It appears our servers had way to many tables. They are lovely when you get them to you...but we waited for water refilled every night, the host staff sat us without menus one evening and it took our staff about 15mins to notice. Our room attendant Tyrone is the bomb! He worked very hard, was friendly and went above and beyond! He needs a raise and a promotion. We found Vintages bar staff very snotty and unattentive except to certain guest, probably why it was never full. Schooners bar staff very accommodating and always full. The best part of our cruise was eating at Chops. The service was fine dining service. The food was amazing. It was a lovely night for us. My hope is that this was just a Brilliance of the seas issue...I would hate to have to jump over to a new cruise line.

Overall everything was nice.Especially our cabin guy Phillip. He catered to all of our needs to the fullest. And our waitress Karolina was awesome. She's absolutely the best. Hats off to Karolina and Phillip for making our Ladies cruise an awesome one.

Will never use Royal Caribbean again. by hadlockj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I encountered some problems on board that weren’t necessarily their fault but they showed little to no interest in helping. Guest Services was the worst I have ever encountered. Jessica was the worst. Rude and condescending. I will not be using this line again. I have come to expect more when cruising. What made it worse is I was taking a family member on the cruise as a gift. Quite frankly, I was embarrassed.

Great Caribbean cruise by Takedra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The brilliance of the seas wasn’t all that great. The staff was extremely nice and anything we needed they got for us. It was some maintenance going on that I didn’t like. Not many food options. It wasn’t any food available after 1. The pool closed early. Despite all of that I still had a good time on my first Royal Caribbean cruise.

Great ports by emtchick101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Brilliance of the seas is a beautiful ship with the majority of the staff being accommodating friendly and courteous.. As always in life I wont let a few bad apples ruin everyone else hard work. If you have children under the age of 4 I would leave them home not much entertainment to keep them busy on board.

A great little mini vacation! :) by stef831

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We did this short little cruise for as a belated birthday gift from my hubby. This is smallest ship by far we have ever been on and even though we had a wonderful time, it did feel at times a bit too crowded for our liking. I will say though, the staff and service were absolutely fantastic and everyone was so very pleasant and kind always walking around with smile. Made it so much more enjoyable.

Love the adult only Solarium with the heated pool. Great selection and quality of the food in the casual dining Windjammer. Really enjoyed the shows in the Pacifica Theatre.

My Second "Back to Back" Cruise and Crossing with RC and "Brilliance" by citrusguy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Kudos to following staff: Jose and Julietta, "Dine my Time" @ 7:30 pm, table #547. Dyer, cabin attendant, cabin 8018. Head waiters, main dining room: Zetnel, Nikhic Mattoo, Sandip Mondal. Schooner Bar: Andrae and Camilo. These folks gave friendly service with humor and many smiles....Their superiors are to be commended. I believe in loyalty programs; RC has earned my loyalty and business.

Good itinerary and entertainment but dinner in dining room has gone down dramatically by richb395b

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Beginning embarkation and final disambarkation excellent. Embarkation in ports suffered from poorly staffed security as long lines and only one scanner of two manned. Cruise director, staff and entertainment excellent as was most of the service staff. Omnipresent load music in Windjammer, even at 5:45 AM, and on deck by pool. Great itinerary. Overpriced excursions containing large groups making it impossible to hear guides; the prices charged should have justified “whispers .” At least one bus was packed as close as airline economy seats. Air conditioning was not always used even during extremely hot weather. Dining room food on previous cruises was very good however food on this cruise was mediocre in quality and poor selections. Wait staff was excellent and concerned that you get a good experience.

What a great trip!!! by wegek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Honestly, the itinerary was phenomenal and I had a great vacation. The representative from was useless. She was unavailable and never returned calls. I used for the benefit of my Delta card, but I wouldn’t again in the future. It was a 3rd party booking and being that my rep was unavailable it made handling questions and arrangements a little more complicated. I don’t like being negative, however, Theresa Pratt was just not worth the extra miles I received due to some aggravation I had to handle with the cruise.
