Review summary

We had a great cruise. Brilliance is a nice, small ship. If you expect the same amenities as a larger ship, they you might be disappointed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We are platinum level with RCCL so it was easy getting on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was good, but nothing special. Prime Rib, Lobster and Tenderloins were the favorites.

Room Service

5 out of 5

Loved the made to order salads and the sandwiches.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The solarium pool is awesome, salt water so you float like a bobber, nice and warm, and walk in entry.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
It's a smaller ship, so can't expect top of the line entertainment. The comedians were fair, the stage shows were pretty good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff seemed dedicated to the passengers, were friendly, and provided excellent service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Casino was a little cramped, centrum area can also get cramped.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had a larger balcony than typical, the bed is by the window so you can hear the ocean as you sleep. Plenty of storage.

Ship tip

Eat the made to order salads!

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
We love Key West. It's full of small, quaint shops, good restaurants, the trolley takes you everywhere.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
We swam with the sting rays, a must do excursion. Only reason not 5 stars is I wish there would be a walk off pier instead of a tender boat.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We did a tequila tasting this time, was fun. We've been here many times so we no the island well.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
We did a Jeep excursion, which was fun to get away from the crowds. The port itself exists only for cruise ships.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
We carry off our luggage. The problem is so does 75% of the ship and they tell you that you need to leave from 7:30-8:00am. This creates a huge mess. They need to change it so walk offs can leave between 7:30 and 10:00am. It would make a huge difference.

If you liked the brilliance then or any other small ship try the rasapady of the seas. it's a really nice small ship. I believe about 2200 passengers.
