Review summary

This was our first time in Europe and the cruise was an excellent way to get an overview of this beautiful part of the world. We would love to come back again some day!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our flight was late so we were one of the last ones to board. The process was quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate most of our meals at the buffet but would have liked to visit the dining room more often. The food was delightful and more than enough!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
When we were 'at sea' we enjoyed the pool areas, did some reading on the Promenade and also walked some laps.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was excellent! The ship's singers and dancers were amazing. What a treat to experience such professional, wonderful talent. The quest entertainers were awesome.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room attendants were top notch. She anticipated our every need and was so very friendly and welcoming. We were also impressed by all the staff on the ship. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional and did everything they could to make our voyage truly memorable.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is older and shows some signs of wear. We had some rust off our balcony and the banister needed sanding and staining. During the journey the staff did a lot of scrubbing and staining in the common areas and tried their best to spruce up ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We were excited to have a balcony, but a bit disappointed when we saw that our balcony was over the top of a lifeboat, so we could not look down at the water. Overall, the cabin was fine.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We stayed in Barcelona for a few days after our voyage was over and loved it!! There is much to see and experience in this beautiful city.

Cannes, France

5 out of 5
We were on our own in Cannes and enjoyed the day. We took a train to Nice and walked through the town.

La Spezia, Italy

4 out of 5
We took a wine tasting tour in Tuscany. It is beautiful in Tuscany with breathtaking views. The winery was small with only five wines produced. We expected to taste all five wines but were only given two. The wine was good but we were disappointed that we could only try two.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
This was an amazing tour. LOTS of walking and steps. The ruins were amazing and wonderful to see. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and a great guide. We were glad to have the "whisper" audio unit so that we could hear everything that he said.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
Athens is amazing! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but it was difficult to hear what he had to say.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
We were 'on our own' in Mykonos. it is a lovely town with plenty of walking and steps. We did some shopping, and enjoyed some Ouzo at a local restaurant.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
We loved Santorini! We took a Kayaking Tour and had a wonderful time. Our two guides were a lot of fun and were very experienced. We kayaked in the Aegean Sea and also had a chance to snorkle. We ate a traditional lunch at a local restaurant and truly enjoyed the day.

Valletta, Malta

2 out of 5
We signed took a tour of Malta that was very disappointing. There was just too much on the agenda to do everything. I would recommend that the boat tour be eliminated from the agenda. We floated around on the harbor for at least an hour and didn't see much of interest. After the boat tour we had to wait for a bus to take us to the heart of Valletta and then we were on our own. We hoped to take the Hop on Hop Off bus to see several points of interest, but the bus was not on schedule. We waited more than an hour for the bus to come and then it was delayed in transit and we were not able to get off, if we wanted to be back at the ship before it set sail! When we arrived at the last stop before returning to the ship we were asked to get off the bus and wait for the next one!! It was 20 minutes late and almost made us late in our return. Then the bus dropped us off at least half a mile from our entrance back into the port!! Needless to say, it was a very disappointing day!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was very efficient and went very smoothly.

You describe one of the perfect reasons to cruise. Initial exploration. Can never truly discover a port/city in six hours or one day. But a sample is nice. Enjoy!

That is why I really enjoy the cruises because you get a taste of different countries,we liked London so we spent 3 extra days when we went back.
