Ship was mediocre

Sail Date: July 30, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Too many formal nights resulting in the decks being consumed with photographers. Photos should not be taken while eating meals. Shopping was very limited...same old stuff. Food choices were average. Excursions expensive - no ability to know on internet about shuttle services for "on your own" travels. Pool facilities inadequate. Entertainment in theater was great performance (Broadway was well done).

Pros: Visiting Capri, Venice, and Dubrovnik

Cons: ship was small

Recommends Brilliance of the Seas? No.

Ship Quality
Due to small size of ship, every place was made difficult to get through without bumping into people. Not impressed with overall cleanliness.
Cabin / Stateroom
Balcony room was small
Food and Dining
Cruise is expensive enough without having to pay extra for QUALITY food at specialty restaurants. Variety was limited in both the Windjammer and Minstrel.
Service and Staff
Except for dining in Minstrel and our stateroom atttendant, it did not appear anypne was "going above and beyond". Overall friendliness in Windjammer seemed to be lacking.
Nothing to write home about!
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Museums in Florence were closed on Monday when we arrived, however fun to walk around.
Don't Miss: Have to see the Leaning Tower...mediocre shopping
Naples, Italy
Not enough time in Sorrento...too long in Pompeii
Don't Miss: Loved the Isle of Capri
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Absolutely owners not always friendly.
Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France
Enjoyed Nice and Cannes
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Had visited before...everything in Rome is worth seeing!
Split, Croatia
Enjoyed the snack and hospitality on our excursion. Was not impressed with Split
Venice, Italy
Loved the city...way too crowded.
Don't Miss: Must take a gondola ride
