Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Consistently high quality, with walk-in seating at most any time.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The port information lectures were very helpful to understand the history and unique features of each area we visited, along with helpful tips for getting the most out of each stop. The cruise director was a dynamo and the staff was proactive in creating more activities when weather forced a change in itinerary.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainers were professional, engaging and added a lot to the experience throughout the ship. Just don’t expect the Broadway style productions & venues found on large ships. The White Night dinner and dance party on deck is a lot of fun!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our stateroom attendant, Harry, kept the place spotless, tidy, and well stocked. The waiters in the Sunset Veranda (our favorite dining venue)were attentive and helpful. The “Cruise Again” manager, Wu Ke, was a great help in finding the perfect stateroom for an upcoming back to back cruise we are planning on Azamara.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our second Azamara cruise and we are sold on the small shop experience. It doesn’t take forever to get somewhere, the elevators are rarely busy, and the size allows access to ports in the heart of cities that enhance the experience. There are ample public areas to gather with others or escape for private time. The ship is well maintained and everything was in good working order.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our V-3 Veranda was comfortable and had ample storage. The bathroom is well designed, though the shower is snug. There is good sound insulation and the curtains make it very dark. The veranda is covered, easy for 2 to share and is a nice place to relax.

Ship tip

The onboard experience more than makes up for the at-times frustrating Axamars website.

Ports of call

Lisbon, Portugal

5 out of 5
Lots to see and do if you have time before embarking.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

5 out of 5
This was a highlight - cruising the river and squeezing through locks and beneath a suspension bridge to dock in the heart of Seville was truly special and made the overnight port stay very convenient. The cathedral is magnificent and Plaza de España is a photographer’s dream.

Gibraltar (U.K.) Did not visit port

Unusual high winds delayed our departure from Seville, necessitating this port cancellation.

Malaga, Spain

5 out of 5
Bad conditions delayed docking and we missed our independent excursion to Alhambra, but we were able to walk to the Alcazaba and found stunning views.

Cartagena, Spain

5 out of 5
We enjoyed our walking tour of Murcia.

Alicante, Spain

5 out of 5
Beautiful city on the water! The Food Lover’s Walk tour was a tasty way to see different parts of the city.

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
Despite some rain, we thoroughly enjoyed an independent Segway tour covering the Old Town, river park and the Arts and Sciences area.

Barcelona, Spain

Nice cruise terminal with easy transportation. We stayed a few days to explore. La Sagrada Familia is an emotional experience (get tickets!) even after seeing other spectacular cathedrals throughout Europe!

Disembarkation
