Nice ship, passengers could be better by neiltravels2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Arvia

This maybe my 5/6th cruise from Southampton all with different cruise lines. One thing in common though, your embarkation will be a trial and breakfast will be a battle. Same ships on Med cruises no such problems - conclusion, it's the people that sail from Southampton. Arvia is a lovely ship but the queue system and pre-booking is a pain in the backside (was the same on Anthem of the Seas out of Southampton). Longer cruises might be better as folk don't try to cram everything into a short cruise. P&O aim squarely at middle England cruisers and they attract them. They also need to watch their pricing as for a mainstream cruise line they are dangerously close to premium cruise line prices where you get much better bangs for your buck.

Arvia - France, Spain and Portugal. by BrysY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Arvia

We booked this cruise as a break and to try Arvia as it was the only ship in the fleet that we had not been on. We felt that very few of the tours offered held any appeal and the entertainment varied from excellent to poor but the service and food was excellent throughout which judging by some reviews that we have read is no longer always the case on P&O. Some great venues onboard but the experience has changed over the 13 years that we’ve been sailing with them. It certainly feels much less special if you remember the old days but it was an enjoyable break.

Excursions are a must for all Islands, use independent ones if you want to save some money.

Terrible ship , dirty . Poor quality food and entertainment by jj123vw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Arvia

Very poor quality entertainment often repeated. Food left out for the day before served to you and Service can take 30 to 40 minutes in between starters and mains and that’s if you can even get a booking in a restaurant as it only has a virtual booking system which opens at 6:30 mean, meaning that you have to start at your phone and try and join a virtual Queue

Could do better by Suki2018

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Arvia

Could have been better. Feel like staff are exploited from conversations had with various staff. P & O need to treat staff better, employ more staff, morale is low as overworked and underpaid thus affecting level of service provided. Not sure if would cruise with them again for this reason. We only chose P & O as only cruiseliner that did 14 nights in the Caribbean and somewhere we always wanted to go. Underwhelming.

First cruise with P&O by jloanlee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Arvia

This was our first cruise with P&O and can safely say it won't be our last! It was a wonderful experience from Start to finish. The crew and staff are friendly helpful and polite. Arvia is a beautiful ship, can't wait to sail on her again in the future.

Graceful Welcome from Arvia by Tarth

The entertainment was top tier. Especially from the headliners company. Do book, before coming on board to avoid disappointment and queuing.

Fantastic cruise overall. The ship is lovely. by fenner87

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Arvia

Arvia is a beautiful ship and I would love to go on her again in the future. The staff are very nice but sometimes missing personal touches and they don’t seem to have the enthusiasm or energy that staff on other cruise lines have but over all an amazing holiday and we would definitely return.

Wouldn’t rush back by Offcruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Arvia

We weren’t keen on the new restaurants which differ from Iona, 6th street and one other forgettable one. Also didn’t like joining a virtual queue at 7pm to get my dinner served at 8.30. Like most cruise lines these days it has an app, that’s fine, we like an app you can order your drink from or look up the daily activities, oh wait P&O don’t offer that!
