Review summary

We enjoyed the cruise,it was a last minute very reasonably priced holiday,In fact it was very cheap! Sadly inside cabins were sold as little as £399 for 2 weeks! P&O struggling with huge staffing issues, cruise was saved by us booking and using the Retreat

Embarkation

Generally OK, it's a big ship!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR's were OK, nothing special at all, limited menus from our last P&O cruise. Booking app worked well but queues were a solid hour or so, lots of complaints!! Speciality restaurants were excellent,Keel and Cow and Epicurean especially

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Swimming pools packed, whirl pools ok,started charging for the high ropes, not used much

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Good all round Gary Barlow not my cup of tea but the ladies enjoyed it, theatre small for such a big ship

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Ship is extremely short staffed rumours of between 200 to 400 and it showed, most staff doing 3 roles ,our cabin steward said morale was awful and a further 200 left on our last day!! Captain was quite often seen around but was fending off a lot of complaints

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
For a new flagship liner Arvia is very beige, many said was it finished? Staffing issues caused problems around the ship. It was often dirty and there were no patrols stopping guests from smoking in non smoking areas

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was nice, small and compact but fine for 2, bathroom and shower very small but decent quality

Ship tip

Book the Retreat when on board if you can, open decks are very busy,Retreat was excellent, good food and drink, saved needing a drinks package for very little money
