My Nine Days Cruise by altormeasej

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The room was excellent and in a very good location. Love the deck level and the availability to the nearest elevator. The dinner restaurants were very nice, especially Chop Grill and the Grande. The ports were excellent and I got a chance to see every thing by doing the tours. Smooth sailing and excellent weather, Will try you services again in the future.

First Time Cruise by MannWong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The cruise was very calm, and the food was excellent. The boat was very clean and I definately recommend to others looking for a relaxing cruise. It really is a great cruise for older grandparents as well. There are plenty of opportunities for them to get active in the pool or just have fun in the casino. Love

nice trip by tradespy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The ship is beautiful and has a lot of activities for children and adults. I am a diamond plus member and my wife and I were taken back that there is very little recognition of the diamond members and above. Most of the other ships really cater to the diamond members and above but this ship did not appear to do that. I would recommend this ship to anyone, but if you are a diamond member or above do not expect the services that you would normally get from the other Royal Caribbean ships.

Best trip Ever by umphlett

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

From the moment we got on till the moment we stepped off every second of the trip was exactly what we were looking for and more.  The Anthem of the Seas is one of the most beautiful ships I've ever seen.  Kids had a blast on bumper cars, roller skating, I fly rip cord and boogie boarding on the stern of the ship.  The food was perfect and reservations in advancing allowed us to walk in to each restaurant with I wait. Chops Restuarant is a must the steaks are out of this world delicious. We sailed to Bermuda and Horshoe Bay Beach which is free to guests by the way was wonderful and clean.

Not the best but not the worst by ealtiery

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The ship is beautiful. Tasteful. Entertainment was good. Food was good. Wish some things had been explained more. For example, we had dynamic dining and getting a reservation even day one was impossible. Special activities like rip cord, etc were booked on day one.

Disembarking went very wrong. We had self walk off at 715am. When we got down there, there were over 1000 people lined up with suitcases.  It was pretty chaotic and only one rccl staff there.

Forget getting a chair at the pool if you're not there by 9a.

Bermuda Cruise by Rajan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The dining room experience as very good and the staff were courteous and friendly, and eager to please there were many choice of food to choose from, from appetizers to main course. The Windjammer Market place was different from other cruise, ship with Royal Caribbean but there were enough stations where they made omelettes to order. In our previous cruise with Royal Caribbean they will have dessert shows, with varieties of desserts, a meat carving show with midnight buffet and also Ice carving in the pool deck. Instead they had varieties of dessert in the Windjammer, It looks like they compensated for what they did not do. The shows were very good. The ship was clean

We chose the 6:00 PM dining. They changed restaurant each day, but with the same table number. The waiting staff followed you, and we could taste the different cuisine and food. This is something new and we think it is a great idea

A dream that has come true... by June23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I can't figure out what was my favorite part. I think I liked everything.

I was disapointed about the info given on the website regarding how to dress for the Grande restaurant, the Silk, the American icon and the Chick.  We packed nice clothing to go to every restaurant except the Grande because it said that the Grande was formal and we were not going to dress for that.  Then we found out that the clothing we took was too dressy for the Silk, Chick and American Icon and just about right for the Grande but my husband had not taken a jacket so we could not go anyway... so, the info on the website is/was very confusing.

I also would like to thank everybody in guess services, they were very helpful. Happy

Anthem was ok, but I won't return by erika3trail

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

PROS: new ship, high tech, you can buy a wristband instead of having carry your sea pass around, dedicated app for use on board, fast wifi package, pretty decor, fast embarkation, iFly ripcord was awesome, docked in beautiful Bermuda for almost 2 days, upgraded Windjammer buffet was good, Izumi sushi restaurant was good, The Grande restaurant was good; the character breakfast was good; hand washing stations when you walk in the buffet, sanitizer at the specialty restaurants

CONS: slow/disorganized debarkation; OBVIOUS RACKET with NJ taxis from the port to the airport- they charged $20 PER PERSON & claimed the cruise line approved the rate & you have NO OTHER taxi options available at the port (que Sopranos theme music) we paid only $7 pp for a taxi from the airport to the port 😡; the cruise line didn't explain fully that you have to set reservations online for practically everything well before your trip starts- dinners, shows, certain activities, or you'll be relegated to the buffet or sandwiches & pizza for dinner- many people were upset & confused about this on the ship; obvious lack of wait staff at the pools, had to wait in lines at the bars

My favorite part was being in Bermuda. One and a half day is not enough. At least one more day would be perfect.

shop had many interesting activities for young people, but not so much for older ones.the cabin was very comfortable and food was good in the restaurants but not in the buffet for lunch.

embaekation was slow. Disembarkation was very slow

Beautiful Bermuda by jessnjjsmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Ship was awesome, crew awesome, no  complaints. We had a great time. Bermuda was beautiful but very expensive. Horseshoe Bay was unbelievable. The sand was like sugar. The water was crystal clear.stay away from mopeds heard lots of horror stories. We did an island tour on our own. We saw almost the entire island beaches, Gibbs lighthouse, mansions.

5 Nights on the Anthem of the Seas by prwentz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Overall the time on the Anthem of the Seas was great.  The ship is large and there is a point where one feels like they are just being tolerated by the crew.

The first item I found issue with are reservations for dining and activities.  If one does not make their reservations in advance there is nothing left and you go on the wait list.  Activities such as, Ripcord by ifly, cannot be reserved in advance.  When I got onboard at 12:00 the day of sailing and attempted to make a reservation there were only 5 time slots left.  Interesting since it was early in the boarding process and about 50% of the passengers were not onboard.  It would have been nice to be able to have more flexibility or have been able to reserve in advance.

Concerning food service.  Overall the food is OK.  The food in the complimentary dining areas, American Icon, Chic, and The Grand, is served from central galleys and is not hot when received.  The buffet food service, Windjammer and Solarium Bistro, although it was good it is what can be expected for buffet service.

One of the dining areas, Chic, has issues with service.  The wait staff is slow and has an attitude that they are busy.  Although we do not like to be rushed through dinner 45 minutes to receive a glass of wine is totally unacceptable.  When we raised a complaint the manager said they were busy, there were empty tables and tables around ours were getting attention.  I do not buy the excuse they were busy since they have the same amount of guests each and every day of the cruise.

We only had one dinner at Chic but two breakfasts and the breakfast service was slow also.  Again the "excuse" was they were busy and again there were many empty tables in the dining area.

Our stateroom was the highlight of the cruise.  Our stateroom attendant, Theo, was very friendly and went out of his way to provide us with anything we required.  He was one of the crew who made the cruise enjoyable.

Overall the experience was what we expected.  Jamie's Italian and Silk were excellent experiences.  Our server at Silk was energetic and made sure we were not forgotten.  When we were first seated he stopped by the table and told us he would be back in a minute as he needed to find a bottle of wine.  Although it took him more than a minute just the act of acknowledging our presence made a lasting impression.  Perhaps Chic should take lessons from Silk.

For a quick getaway and some time to relax the 5-day Bermuda cruise was a good choice.

Anthem of the Seas by dacamnorton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Embarkation was ridiculous, we waited 2 ours in the waiting area, had the first time appointment to get on the ship, and we are also crown & anchor members to have people walk in crowd the isles instead of going to stand in the back as requested and once they opened the entrance to the ship those people bombarded the entrance.  The RC employees had NO control over the situation so the people who had been waiting for hours ended up getting on after the people who just walked in the door.  It was like being herded like cattle.  This was not a good way to start our cruise.

Once on the ship we immediately went to the activities desk to schedule some onboard activities, such as North Star and iFly (which were some of the main reasons we booked this cruise).  We stood in line over 30 minutes but were able to book the reservations (or so we thought).

Everything was fine until we went to our 10 am reservation we scheduled for North Star the next day.  Guess what.....there was no record of our reservation.  So we were told we had to go to Guest Services to resolve the issue and reschedule.  While waiting in line at Guest Services for another 30 minutes Veron was the person I had the pleasure of explaining my problem too.  She proceeded to tell me that neither of my activities had been scheduled and at this point they were both sold out no longer accepting reservations.  In my disbelief I explained to her that we scheduled the activities with a man from the activities crew and he assured us everything was scheduled.  She stated that she would see what she could do and let us know.  Veron from Guest Services was a rock star, even though it took the whole cruise until the last cruising day to work everything out she made it happen to where I got to experience both activities.  She even helped us every time the bar attendants tried to charge us for drinks we already paid for (which happened several times).  Over the course of the 5 day cruise Veron knew me by name (which is sad for a guest relations person) but worked out great in the end.  My hats off to Veron for going above and beyond to make sure our cruise ended on a good note.

very bad communication during disembarkation. by bob12577

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Waited 90 min with no explanation as to the holdup. Food was typical buffet food. The stand out was Jamie's. Bed was comfortable, room was cleaned several times a day. Balcony was also a big plus.
