I truly love doing a 12 night cruise..there’s time to do the activities and enjoy the entertainment as well as time to just relax, eat and make new friends.
The staff were great and responded to any issues swiftly and respectfully. I lost a $50 bill during the cruise and just put it down to a loss. At the end of the cruise, I just asked at guest services and was surprised that it had been found in the gangway...I was well chuffed!
I may not do another winter cruise from a cold climate as we lost a few days of sunshine, however, still had a fab time, met some wonderful people and Royal continues to live up to all expectations.

This was the first cruise that I mainly ate dinners in the dining room as the buffet food was hit or miss for me. Plus, the chaos and stress of trying trying to find a table in the buffet put me off. I did not do any speciality restaurants this time.
American Icon Grill

Enjoyed the food here and they would make custom dishes if you requested. Staff were fantastic and kept our section entertained.
Windjammer Marketplace

Did not like the layout of this Windjammer..it felt kind of cramped. The food was also hit and miss and by the time you walked around a few times looking for a table, it was like warm/cold. However, I did enjoy the made to order eggs.
Onboard Activities

Never got a chance to use the pools once or even get a lounger in the vicinity. I was unwilling to get up at the crack of dawn for this. Enjoyed trivia, casino, North Star, bumper cars, roller skating, karaoke, game shows, watching flow rider and attempting to do IFly.

This was a fun spot on the ship. I loved the bumper cars and roller skating and my son enjoyed the sport games and Xbox area.

Spectra show was my favourite as well as the guest hypnotist from Vegas..he was brilliant and I am no longer a sceptic. Did not particularly enjoy The Gift and We will Rock You was a little disappointing..was looking forward to hearing Bohemian Rhapsody and they never sang it.

Service was excellent as usual. My room steward Rosnet was so friendly as were the waiters/concierge in the dining room. There was an issue for us with my time dining and they went out of their way to sort out an open time but with a set table for the whole cruise. Guest Services were very helpful also.
Ship Quality

Ship was always clean and had a funky look to it. I prefer the promenade area on the freedom and oasis class ships as they seem more open. The Anthem’s felt a bit boxed in and I only really used it as a pass through area or for Sorrentos!
Cabin / Stateroom

Room was a great size with plenty of storage..I overpacked with about a month’s worth of clothing (although I never had suitable things to wear!) and there was more than enough room for our stuff..even leftover drawers. Room never felt fully cleaned but I get that they do a quick once over. It was always comfortable and I enjoyed using the balcony, especially as I could never get a good lounger😄. I liked the size of the shower also.
Ship tip
Book activities like the North Star and shows before boarding..you can always amend on the ship but helps to have a reservation and not have to queue up. Same with excursions as prices go up on ship!
I loved this port..the beaches/water are so beautiful. Took taxi bus to Copacabana beach club and enjoyed. I’d ask the taxi driver to take me to The Boatyard and he insisted the copacabana beach club was better. It worked out great and I loved the atmosphere. The drinks here were great and reasonably priced. Apparently The Boatyard was also a little ways down the same beach.
Loved this port..finally got to do one of my excursions, despite missing the bus. The tour group owner personally drove us around for the tour so we didn’t miss out. We did a plantation visit, rum tasting and vibes beach club tour, which was fun. Loved the island and the food🤗
