Review summary

We love to cruise and we gone twice a year. We booked this one 18 months in advance and was looking forward to it. It was so disappointing. The shows were good but the entertainment for bands was horrible.

Ship tip

Go on another ship. This one was probably the worst royal Caribbean ship we went on. Entertainment was horrible and the only food worth eating was in the speciality dining. If it wasn’t for the piano player, Carlos Leal, in the schooner bar we would of been bored out of our minds. We cruise twice a year and this one ranks the worst so far.

I maybe split on Anthem (as many RC fans are) but there are so many food choices you can't dislike them all: Cafe 270, Solarium Bistro, Seaplex Doghouse, Cafe Esplanade, Sorrento's, Windjammer, Main dining rooms, Johnny Rockets Express, Room Service and (the pub Michael's?). Thats before you get to the speciality restaurant's: Jaime's, Izumi, Chops. I leave off Wonderland and Coastal Kitchen.

Sorry you were disappointed, we were on The Anthem the end of September and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ate specialty dining twice and the rest in MDR and we were very happy with both.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. We’ve always found a good variety and quality of food in both the main dining room and buffet on Royal Caribbean and others lines as well. We were just on another Royal ship in November that had similar menus in the main dining room and thought it was excellent. I see lots of complaints about food on cruise ships and always wonder what people eat when they are home to not enjoy the food on a cruise ship. Apparently there is something incredible that I am missing out on.

I disagree too. I loved the Anthem. Can't wait to do her again. Shows and food were great. We don't do any ship lower than Freedom class and have never been disappointed. I love RC. My husband tells me that I should work for them because of my endorsement.

I don’t agree with this review. Anthem of the Seas is one of the nicest ships RCCL has. Entertainment is above the norm and there are plenty of activities to choose from. We have been on it twice and we have nothing bad to say.
