Review summary

Great itinerary - lots to see and do. The ship was clean and comfortable although the large number of guests challenge the ability to take part in all of the activities/entertainment due to the venue size. Excellent food and service.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy - on the ship in no time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We started the cruise in My Time Dining because told us that was our only option other than the specialty restaurants. We did not like it and after our 3rd dinner switched to the Chic Dining Room (Table 150) for the late seating. What we wanted in the first place - SkyMiles information proved to be incorrect. The food and service throughout the ship was excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We only utilized the Solarium pool which was a beautiful venue, however, due to the large number of fellow passengers it was difficult, at times, to get a seat. Another issue arose when the hot tubs were "hogged" by others for hours while the RC waiters served them drinks in the hot tub.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Of the three productions we saw only We Will Rock You was OK. We walked out on Spectra after a short time - the music was loud and not our style. For all three productions we had reservations but only for We Will Rock You did we get priority seating before those without reservations. This was not right!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The head waiter, waiter, and assistant waiter at Table 150 in the Chic Dining Room were very attentive and professional. Our room steward kept our cabin spotless and provided for all of our extra needs.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was easy to navigate, however, for the large number of guests some of the venues were too small (ie Schooner Bar and Music Hall) for the activities held in them. Overall the ship was well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Large, clean and comfortable - no complaints.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Boston, Massachusetts

2 out of 5
We pre-planned a city tour with the RC excursion company. Once on board we were advised that there was parade/demonstration planned for downtown Boston the day of our tour. When we arrived in downtown Boston the police presence was "scary" and the crowds/traffic unmanageable. We sat in traffic for over 1 hour of our tour - seeing nothing. There was no pre-planning by the tour company to avoid this situation. Very disappointing. The tour guide we had was terrible - he was anti anything but Boston and made his tasteless comments throughout the tour.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Very personable and knowledgeable tour guide. Lots to see in this very pretty city.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
We did not engage a professional tour but took to the streets on our own. Easy to navigate this small, compact city is great for walking and shopping.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Excellent, full day tour taking in all of the sites in Saint John and Bay of Fundy. Excellent lunch and a pub visit to top off a great day.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Lots to see in and around Halifax and out to Peggy's Cove. Great tour guide. Very picturesque.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Well planned and executed.
