Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food overall was good. I’m. It a lover of the windjammer, but the family liked it and kids were happy. Solarium food was great. Chops was fantastic and the Coastal Kitchen was the best I’ve ever experienced on any ship in terms of food and service.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did lots - bumper cars, iFly (booked online in advance), NorthStar (a one and done for me), family and kids spent a lot of time in the SeaPlex, indoor pool was our go to (cooler than outdoor and I didn’t have to be so worried about sunscreen on the kids), bingo was fun.

Service and Staff

We had the best service we’ve ever had on any cruise ship on Anthem

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was amazing. We won our royal up bid and got the 2BR grand suite. Our 2 kids had their own room. We had our own room. And then still a large living room and amazing balcony. We make use of our cabin in the am every day with room-service for breakfast. For me there’s nothing better than coffee on the balcony to start my day. Awesome having 2 bathrooms - it was absolutely amazing.

Ship tip

Book your activities like iFly and stuff in advance on line. However, if your flexible I’m confident you could get on to the attractions if you waited until you were on board. Also - bumper cars were open on boarding day and it wasn’t too busy.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

This was our day of doing nothing. Booked a beach bungalow and made excellent use of it. Great to be close to the water, shade and comfy seats for the grandparents. Calm water for the kids. Some fish around for the snorkeler in our group. It was heaven.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

Crystal caves was awesome. Followed by lunch and quick shopping in Hamilton , and wrapped up at Horseshoe Bay beach. We booked a private excursion and it was perfection for our group of 10 (ages from 7-77) to have a private air conditioned bus to deliver us around the island

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We always just go to big bay beach and enjoy the sand and surf. Had a great day

San Juan, Puerto Rico

This port stop is always meh for me. We wandered a bit - it was hot, there were some protesters around - I’ll skip it next time.
