Review summary

The food was sub par, the ship wasn't that clean, some ports were absolutely horrible, and there wasn't a lot of entertainment on the ship and to pay what we did it just wasn't worth it at all.

I sailed Anthem last October to Bermuda. The ship is beautiful as was our stateroom. However, I found the food was mediocre at best. This was true both in the restaurants and in the Windjammer Marketplace. One morning while dining in the Windjammer, the staff member bussed our table by sweeping the previous guest's crumbs onto the carpeted floor. Perhaps he was having a bad day. I enjoyed myself overall. But these things detracted somewhat from my vacation.

gmcfla21 I agree totally. How could you not be happy on a cruise vacation. All of our cruises weren't perfect, but we had awesome times on each and every one.

been on 24 cruises all different cruise lines including ncl and rc. cannot really recall a bad cruise. we are happy go lucky and make the best of the situation. guess it is difficult to please everyone.

im looking forward to my NCL cruise. on the NCL Dawn and its much smaller than anthem. im up early and never back in our room to after 1am. Lol, im 62 but love the nightlife. it does look like NCL has more party's and things going on after midnight. always ended up at the piano bar on Anthem as he always played later that it was listed for. If he was a stick in the mud as I have found some, might not have had as a enjoyable cruise.

kodak i agree...it depends on what you like... i like the party boat... the music...the interaction...line dances.....drinking...glow party ...being silly...some people like the quiet do nothing but relax life and thats ok too just not for me. i tried carnival and felt the same ... i just happen to be a diehard ncl fan. let me know what u think

as anything in life, it's what you make of it. found the entertainment on Anthem very good. The shows were the best so far. piano bar was great but it's always who is playing that week. was lucky to have a great one who enjoyed his job. Have found a few who act if they were too good or bored with the gig. Dreamz1109 is a NCL fan. many in our offices will only do NCL, lol most are the drinkers.......will be on my 1st NCL in 10 weeks and will see what the fuss is about. 1st time with drink package and 3x specialty dinning. only have them as my TA was able to get us the deal on a better room for only 100 extra. even without a drink package on any other one, never spent more that 250.00 on booze.

anthem was the worst i ever was on.... hardly any entertainmeny...no entertrainment staff....shows were boring..i felt like i was on a floating senior home.... ncl is and will always be my favorite....when u get back on the anthem its dead quiet and blah.. ncl has welcome back parties....drinks...snacks...etc never sailing royal again

We just came off the Anthem in June. This poster must have been on a different Anthem than us. Everything was great! I would go back in a heartbeat.

Lol. least crowded of any ship we have been on. with a large ship they have more areas to find. more time in port would nice but you knew the time before booking. best is the 3 days in Bermuda. Not good trying to fit too much in one cruise.

This ship was way too crowded. More time in port would have been nice. Labadee needs serious work before I would go there again. The zip line was great but too expensive for 50 seconds! Up charges galore. My desire to cruise again is gone for good.

The best restaurant on the ship was the best dining room, I fell asleep during the "we will rock you" but the other shows were great

The Anthem is a fabulous ship. It's so new and clean. Was this your ship? I just keep booking on and on. Where what were your ports?

Sure you were on Anthem?? the shows were great and I go to a Broadway show 2x a year. food was very good in the included restaurants. did you book ahead as Everyone said on ship mates? or did you just wing it. I bet you didn't do any PREPLAN and now just want to complain. even on the smaller ships you have to do your homework before. hope this is a lesson learned.
