Overall this was not a good cruise. The overcrowding made the cruise very unpleasant. I was at guest services 4 times for negative reasons on this cruise whereas I had never been to the guest service desk on any other cruise.

Onboard Activities

The entertainment was great, small activities (trivia etc) was good but the pools we absolutely awful. The ship (Allure of the Seas) was heading to Galvaston following our cruise and Royal Caribbean wanted to spruce up the ship for this new home port. They failed to notify the at capacity ship guests that they would be closing the entire front of the ship (solarium) and another of the pools leaving 5,400 people to pile into the ammenties left over. I will never cruise on a ship with a large capacity again and most likely not choose Royal Caribbean as my preferred cruise line.
Entertainment

Loved Mamma Mia and the aquatic show. We were on the ship for Halloween which was great to see all the guests out in full costume but the Cruise Director fell flat on his face and had no control over the crowd and showed no skill in doing his job. He was by far the worst cruise director I have had on a cruise.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
I did not have any experience with children's entertainment
Service and Staff

The steward was great. The waiters did not seem to give the personalized attention I would prefer. This was most likely due to the high number of passengers on board. As stated above the cruise director was awful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Allure of the Sea is a well designed ship and kept very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
This was a forward facing cabin with a view of the heliport. I paid for an oceanview and saw a sliver of ocean, that's it. Also the cooler had to be replaced the first day because it didn't function and also the cabin got extremely hot from the sun beating down on the front of the ship. The A/C could not keep up with the heat gain and I had to keep the curtains closed all the time. WOrst cabin I have ever had. Very disappointed.
Ship tip
Ask about ship capacity and what ammenities are planned to be closed if any. Royal caribbean filled the ship to the point that my cabin was unsatisfactory even in the eyes of guest services and yet there was no cabin available to move to. Guests are just a number to Royal and common sense is thrown out the window in favor of turning a profit.
I enjoyed the excursion I took and liked this port very much. I wished they lined up for the excursions on the dock instead of further in. There was lots of confusion and the area we gathered in was chaotic and crowded
