We love our Royal Caribbean cruises, having sailed with Royal for over 20 times. Beautiful ship and super customer service oriented crew. Nice port locations and tasty food and snacks.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Considering the pre-boarding Covid protocols and needing to provide a negative Covid test, which could not be over 3 days old, the embarkation process worked well. We had a set time to show up at the port and provided our negative Covid test paper to at least 3 persons before we proceeded to the actual check-in. But, all went smooth and it probably was only a little over one hour from our port arrival to actually being on the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was excellent with plenty of restaurants to select from. We loved dining at Chops Grille and Izumi, and had great meals and service in the main dining room.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We used the walking/running track on deck 5 each day; while most ships have some type of walking track, the Oasis class ships have a full scale track with two lanes and it's a wonderful way to exercise each day. I did use the Fitness Center one day and it's spacious, clean and very nice.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows and entertainers were great
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Double this to 20 stars, as the service and staff were exceptional. It did help that our ship was only about 40% capacity and per the captain's announcement during the week, there were more crew members on the ship that passengers. We never had to wait for anything, including the elevators, which was a nice treat.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The Oasis class ships, including the Allure of the Seas, as the absolute best. While we do said with Royal Caribbean on their smaller class ships, our preference is the Oasis class ships. So much space, so many things to do, so many dining places to select from.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Overall comfort was nice and the size of the room as food for us. It was super clean and our room attendant cleaned our room twice a day.
Ship tip
On the Oasis class ships, you can have breakfast at Johnny Rocket's in addition to the other breakfast choices, and the breakfast is complimentary. This is a nice treat on a morning to be able to sit out on the Boardwalk area on deck 6 and have breakfast at Johnny Rockets.
We love Cozumel and did the Fury Catamaran Snorkel and Beach trip excursion. This is a 4-hour venue with great and friendly crew. Along with a snorkeling stop, the catamaran proceeds to a private beach for 1.5 hours and the beach area is beautiful.
Costa Maya, for us, is an okay stop; we walked through the tourist area, but did not do any excursions. We plan to research Costa Maya before our next cruise to find something fun to do while there.
Our best disembarkation experience ever; we do the carry-off service, rolling off our own luggage and we departed the ship at 6:45 AM, getting through customs is a breeze as now they are using a face recognition process; within 10 minutes, we were off the ship and into our vehicle for travel back home.
It appears you had a wonderful time, onboard and at the ports. I haven't sailed an Oasis class ship yet, but your review makes it sound like pure heaven 😇
