Good Experience by kathina12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed the dinners and the shows very much.  Our servers were the very best and made our dining experience very nice.

We did not care for Giovanni's, the private restaurant.  Did not like the way the server sent over his recommendations and we did not get good service.  We think this was because they were short of help.  The food was good, but we found it better to just stay in the main dining areas.

All the shows were exceptional.  We saw the ice skating, comedian, crew member show and Elvis impersonator show.  All of them were the best I have ever seen.

The breakfast buffet was great!

It was a big crowded in many areas, but we still enjoyed the cruise very much.

Ups and Downs by dirtyneckpointe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall the Cruise and on-shore Tours were very good.  The first down was a

big one.  Our cabin floor rug  was a mess.  The room attendant stated that it happened a long time ago and all attempts to clean it have failed.  She said it was a coffee stain, to me it looked like it may have been a blood stain, it was about 1 1/2 to 2 feet wide.  Another down was the balcony door.  It took all the strength I had to open and shut it.  Actually a lot of the boat showed it was aged and need of replacement or updating.  Upside was the entire crew was as good and on their toes as to appeasing the each customer.

They could have used more manning of the guest services counter, at times it was 15 to 20 customers deep.

Lastly and most important.  We signed up for the tour back in march.

Filled all the paper work..etc.  I paid for the cruise with my credit card and

checked all boxes deemed to be needed.  One being that all on board charges were to go against the credit card.  We got up at 5:00 a.m. on the day departure in order to eat some breakfast and get to the assembly area at 7:15 a.m.

all was well until we were departing, they would not let us off the boat.  Stating

we had to go to guest services, with no explanation as to why.  I insisted that

by doing that we would miss our flight out of San Juan.  They refused to let us off the boat.  So I went to guest services and it turns out the on boat charges were not charged to the credit card.  We missed our flight and then missed  two scheduled after that due to them being full.  Our original flight was for 10:15 a.m.

we finally got a flight @ 8:10 p.m. arriving in Miami @ 11:30 p.m. and our next flight was for 6:15 a.m. Sunday.  No hotel rooms were available, so we sat it the airport all night.  Finally catching two more flights and getting home about noon Sunday.  Our original time to be home was 7:30 p.m. Saturday.  We were awake from 5:00 a.m. Saturday until mid afternoon on Sunday.  That's not easy for a 82 and 64 year old couple.

The Best cruise in my life! by sfokanov

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It was our first ever cruise for hubby & myself yet we found it truly magical from start to finish! Everything went so incredibly smoothly as well as fabulously! They are just so incredibly efficient plus friendly from the time you emark until the time you disembark- every minute detail is taken care of with such beautiful exact precision- it is impressive! The celebration cruise ship is a mighty fine ship, pretty small in comparison to most other cruise ships you find in port- dwarfed by majority of ships, yet it is perfectly sized as well as elegant! It is not ostentatious like too many ships you see whilst on your cruise yet it is luxurious in a simply sophisticated manner.  Our cabin was spacious plus had everything we could possibly need- we were on deck 6 at the very front of the ship with a superb view- hubby and I loved it!

Great Ports of Call by toytoy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Loved the itinerary; enjoyed stopping at 5 different places and having a day to relax and recoup before departing the ship. The ship was clean, the staff was courteous, and the food was good. In comparison to other cruises I've been on I would say this is the 2nd best cruise, my first choice still Royal Caribbean, but on the Freedom of the Seas which is very similar in style to this one. The staff just felt more outgoing on that one compared to this one; however, the staff was still great, especially our stateroom attendant. Would definitely cruise on this ship again and repeat the itinerary for sure!

RCCL Cruise by wags998

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Had a very nice time.  Cabin was good size (Jr suite).  Balcony surprising large.  Only real disappointment was the food.  Seemed mediocre at times, especially desserts.  Dining room servers were excellent.

Food was not great by dcal608

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was supposedly refurbished a few years ago but they didn't do a total refurbish. We had a balcony room and the balcony was full of rust. A little sanding and painting would have been nice.

The food left a lot to be desired. Much prefer the food on Carnival. The desserts were terrible. I'm not hard to please at all, but comparing the 2 cruise lines there is no comparison. Carnival wins and we are cruising with them again in December. Can't wait.

Excellent!! by jarielmartinez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Cruise has all type of included entertainment for all ages. Food was exquisite. My personal preference was the buffet because I ate a lot and variety was unmatched to the restaurant. Room service right on time and excellent.

Rooms were like if the ship was brand new as all the facilities. Indoor activities were good. We were unlucky with children activities or maybe they weren't organize because we follow the map and schedule and the place was all deserted, we weren't the only one. That mishap doesn't overpower the greatness of the cheap.

Great Times on Adventures of the Sea by susanbinkley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The service, food, drinks, hot tub, comfort, and fun all combine to make an excellent vacation.  My first cruise was filled with variety and service that created an excellent fun, interesting, relaxing, pleasant time for me.  The food was wonderful, the dining staff was outstanding .  All areas were clean and our room was always clean and we always had fresh towels.  There was a good variety of activities.  The ports of call were on islands with the most beautiful beaches.  We liked this cruise path as it travel out to sea and that was long leg at sea, then each morning we woke up at different ports each day.  We danced , toured, relaxed and had great coffee each morning and great drinks later.  Everything was at our finger tips.  A TRUE vacation with fresh air when we wanted and privacy when we wanted.  Great shower in the bath and comfortable beds.Big SmileLove

7th Cruise Later - Very Relaxing by AngiefromPA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Adventure of the Seas was NOT over crowded like all 6 others. There was lots of room around pools and in the clubs and bars. The cruise ship was full and lots of people and happenings going on but not so "busy crowded" like others that you felt crammed. This was very relaxing by day and lots of events during the evening in to the late night. There was activity in to the late hours keeping us busy until 2:00am every single night. The ship staff was great at getting cruisers involved in ALL events.  Down side was the theater shows. Great singers and dancers but far from a big production. Most performers were in black and grey attire, nothing colorful or exciting.  Most sets were just a black curtain with sparkling lights - only show that was great was the ice show getting 10 stars... all others were 5 stars or thumbs down, very disappointing. Food as usual was excellent with super great dining room services. Ports of call were absolutely breathtaking with lots to do. Information regarding islands were very helpful. Loving cruising with each holiday.

Adventure on Adventure of the Seas by ssull222

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall, this was a wonderful cruise.  The food, while good overall, did not live up to the excellent expectations I had based on a previous cruise on Royal Caribbean.  I wasn't wowed by the food this time around

Royal Caribbean average this time by liveandlaugh200

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Royal Caribbean's ships are always a "10" for cleanliness, décor, etc.  The new touch screens are a nice upgrade for finding your way or checking the activities of the day.  We were really disappointed this time with the quality, presentation and variety of the food in the Windjammer.  Also it seemed that many staff just aren't in to their job or the  customers.  It seems that the overall quality of a Royal Caribbean cruise (my favorite until now) is slipping.

Good, not great by tmschalin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The staff was very on top of things, but only a few were friendly. I also wasn't very impressed with the food, especially in the Windjammer buffet. I would have liked to have other dining options like other cruise lines have. Carnival had a 24 pizza place (not just generic pepperoni and cheese) and a delicious burger place that you didn't get charged extra for. I would have liked to see more of that. Also, the shore excursions were good, but we found we could have booked them off the ship for half the price.

Ship needs help by PaminOrange

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We eagerly looked forward to our cruise on the AOS.  The ship was relatively clean but needs major overhaul:  rooms need update of furnishings; carpet had been pieced together; pillows bad; shopping promenade did not have a good selection of items (once through was enough); dining room food good but in-room purchased catering (fruit and cheese) was terrible and had to complain; lack of communication as to formal night dining, special nights, etc.; shore excursion desk not helpful (made changes to excursion without asking which conflicted with other plans and took a lot of complaining to get changed.

GREAT Adventure! by joloves2cruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Family cruise with our adult children.  This is the same ship we took last year so we were familiar with this beautiful floating city. We went to different ports this time, so our Adventure was new!  So many port things to chose from. The wait staff could not have been more accommodating! Talk about service...they were for you!  The ice show was top notch, a-one, professional!  An EXCELLENT Adventure, one of the best we have had in 16 cruises!  Can't wait til next year!
