Wonderful Cruise Experience by melissa4724

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is getting ready to go into dry dock, however for the most part the ship was still in good shape though showing it's wear. That however did not detract from the AMAZING staff we encountered from our Cabin Steward to our Wait Staff. We started at one table in My Time Dining, the second night is where we met Ronald and Denis, and where we remained for the rest of the cruise. Our Cabin Steward was amazing as well. The Adventure of the Seas is a smaller ship, we enjoyed this as we saw the people we met through out the cruise and developed some wonderful friendships.

Caribbean Island Hopping via Royal Caribbean by howell719

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I was traveling with three other girl friends and we had a ball!.  I chose Adventure of the Seas based upon the itinerary and since I had been on the same ship previously.  The itinerary out of Puerto Rico was St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados.

However, due to impending storm which turned out to Hurricane Matthew, the ship's captain made the prudent decision to turn around after our day in Antigua. The revised itinerary for the remainder of the cruise took us back to St. Maarten with St. Croix and St. Thomas added.  We felt no problems.

We understand that the Adventure of the Seas will undergo a makeover to include some more amenities.  Additional considerations could be more places to enjoy free dining.

Special mention must be made to Mr. Kelvin Bobb, our Cabin Steward from St. Vincent and the Grenadines and to Mr. Joel Del Rosario Garcia our dining room waiter from the Dominican Republic, and to Mr. Roson Andrades, the other dining room waiter from India.  We also enjoyed the great customer service from Mr. Stephen Benjamin from Grenada who served us in the Windjammer each morning.  All great people and customer oriented!

Adventure of the Seas by queen

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

The ship, the food (for the most part), the cleaniness, and the service was excellent. Our dining servers, Sasikumar and Jovenito and cabin steward, Keifer were wonderful. The entertainment was mediocre. The itinerary was great.

My Great Escape by jtmaccordion286

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I like the roomy stateroom and friendly concierge. Great dining in the Vivaldi with excellent waiters named Maria and Percival. The ice skating show was marvelous. I am glad to hear that the ship will go thru modifications and I hope an adult waterworks will be included in the ship. Too bad it's not the Harmony of the Seas with all those waterworks and a deep pool where one can dive in. The ship is great but missing all those great things that I've mentioned but in all I enjoyed the Adventure of the Seas.

Extra charges and selling , poor use of spaces by fretime

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

No favorite part of this cruise, stay away from this ship! The only good thing was the cabin attendant who did an outstanding job.

Organized activates were disorganized started late ran over or were moved or cancelled at the last minute.

Entertainment was the very worst I could imagine, and I was in a group of 9 adults all felt the same.

I sailed The Norwegian Sun last year, much smaller ship but far superior in all respects!

Awesome Islands to visit by thekitchensinph

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Cruise was great, the ports were great, windjammer Cafe needs to change up the offerings at the buffet. No real good eating option after 9pm unless you went to Johnny Rockets, promenade was very nice, we did tours on each island but didn't book them through RC. Wish we didn't have to be back on the boat at 430 each day when on some days, we cruised at only 5 knots because the islands were so close.  The staff were amazing and activities were plentiful on the ship. We are going to do it again next year!!

Great locations! by hug9809047

I would recommed the trip but we prefer Carnival over Royal Caribbean. We enjoy comedy and music there are more things to do on Carnival Cruises then Royal. I really think the food is about the same.

Service / Attention by juanbobonis

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Everything was wonderful.

I will recommend the Cruise to others, of course.

The service in the meals by Alberto and E, (table 209) was wonderful.

We just had a situation with the waiters Riyaz and Antonio (332, in the morning table), not very good. There was lack of interest in assist us. Seems that that day the young (Riyaz) not was in good humor. The breakfast was very good. Have AAA

Amazing by Mlsalcines77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We loved it! The ship was amazing. The service was awesome! We enjoyed the entertainment on board, and the amazing beaches we visited. The only thing we were disappointed with was the Chef Table dinner we did one night.  We thought the food could have been better. However, the service made up for it.  Everyone one board worked hard to ensure we had a great time. We enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend it.Happy

The Royal Caribbean cruise of a lifetime by JBGV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

A different port 5 days in a row.  Only one full day at sea.  Beautiful islands and perfect weather. The Adventure of the Seas is a wonderful ship and the Cruise Compass activity list was extensive.  So many things to do, all day and all night.

Great cruise by aftermidnightoutlookcom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a wonderful time on this cruise!  The ports of call were all great, but especially Barbados.  Swimming with the dolphins was fantastic!

The ship was in great shape, but it is going into dry dock next month for a remodel.  Should be even better then!

Improvements needed by jansutt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Royal Caribbean is our cruise line of choice; however, the food was not as good as other RCC cruises, waiter service in the dining room was good but not great and the shows were not as good.  Our room steward was wonderful and eager to get us anything we needed.

Great destinations on a less than average ship by karendon5733

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I have heard about Royal Caribbean all my adult life and this VERY reasonably priced cruise to five dream islands on board RC was like a dream come true.  Your crew's attention to detail and service were impeccable, while the ship itself fell way below my expectations.  Two steps on the starboard side (outside) between decks 11 and 12 actually rocked and caused me to grab the handrail.  Much of the carpet has stains and one hallway actually smelled of mold.  The only meal I've not been able to enjoy in 21 nights of cruising was on day 1 on the Adventure of the Seas.  The steak diane was as tough and grisly as I've experienced in my entire 68 years. Had I realized the lengths that Firman and Samsul would go to satisfy us, I would have tried getting something edible, but with no prior experience on RC, I was afraid this was the norm for this ship. Trying to find a bottle of water on board with which to take our first night's pills was a real job.  A "General Store" on the Promenade with no water- what a lack of thought on everyone's part.  I did locate one at the bar from a very helpful young lady.  Your staff was wonderful and the itinerary was exceptional.

Your shining glory is in disembarkation!  This was well-coordinated and went better than I could have imagined.  I do know that this ship is being dry-docked and refitted later this year.  Critical issues (like loose steps and moldy carpet) demand immediate attention before someone is injured.  One million dollar lawsuit because of a critical injury hardly seems worth saving two tack welds that would not take three hours time to repair.  This fact makes me wonder if RC is worth a second chance at a later date

The Ports made it happen by BrunoFlipper

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

The destinations were the PLUS of the cruise.  Of all the RCCL ships the food on Adventure has been the weakest.

Service A++; Other weakness problems will be fixed with the upcoming dry-dock.

Adventure of the Seas by teressanormanhill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

I did not like the Puerto Rico port. Your status if you are platinum  or gold or diamond did not matter. It was obvious the porters for luggage was the key to getting anywhere in line. No place to sit prior to getting on boat. Not a pleasant experience.  The entire cruise and staff was centered around the Hispanic customers. Slow arrive at formal dining.

I will cruise again with Royal Carribean but not out of that port.

Cruise for anniversary by timwthompson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

Room was nice size and had plenty of storage and good closet to unpack all of our stuff. Bathroom was little small and one person at time could be in there. Shower was okay but really high edge so stepping in and out difficult if you have any back or hip issues. Room always seemed to be warm no matter what the ac was set too. Bed was okay but pillows were horrible. Overall the room was okay and no real complaints. Ship as nice and clean and did have some wear and tear but overall was nice especially the deck 5 promenade which is very well cared for and lots of shops. Excursions were good and was easy to get on and off the boat at the ports. Towels stations for excursions was very easy to use as well. Dinner at the dinning room was the best part of the day for us and we had a wonderful table guests and our table staff was excellent and very attentive to our needs. The dinning area up top Windjammer was good for quick bite to eat but chaos when crowded and people cutting in lines and hogging tables. We did European method but sharing tables with people and this allowed us to make several friends on-board and get tables faster. Food and service was good as well and if you can deal with the crowds and rude people you be okay. Only real complaint is the over requests for tipping on this ship. If you buy a drink package they add 18% gratuity so when you order a drink you will get a request ticket for additional tipping. This I found to be pushy and annoying. I understand they work hard and not being mean but you already getting 18%. So what I did was found two people and made them my drink people told them bring me drinks and I will tip at end of the day with them and I did. They got extra and I did not have to fill out and sign repetitive receipts. Drinks are expensive anyway and the packages are okay but you only save based upon the already high prices and have to drink at least 6 drinks per day to beat the price. But this is water, soda, coffee, beers etc so easily done and was nice to have a bottle water in our bag when departing the ship for bus rides and excursions. Overall had great trip but the tipping requests just became annoying. And we always left nice tips to our cabin staff and wait and bar staffs before departing. They were really appreciative and they did earn it for they took really good care of us while on the cruise.
