Review summary

A great itinerary on an aging ship. While not the best Royal Caribbean has to offer from a ship as far as condition, amenities and activities, the service was on par.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
It is still hard to get used to some of the changes made over the years (upcharge main dining elements for one), but overall it was good. One night I had an issue with the doneness of my steak. It took 3 steaks for them to get it right. By #2 I was ok to leave it, but the head waiter insisted to make it right.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Sometimes hard to find chairs at the pool. Eventually things cleared so we could sit. ping pong was always busy, so more tables would be nice. trivia always seemed to be at times that conflicted with dinner or shows, which was odd and difficult to attend.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The cruise directors team was great. The orchestra was great. The other acts like the headliner, dancers and comedian were lacking what I've come to expect from Royal on the Oasis class.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and helpful throughout

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Time for a remodel. A lot of rust in outdoor areas including our room balcony which made it uncomfortable to enjoy. Everything was kept clean though.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We ended up being assigned an decent size balcony room. It was a nice size room. The balcony rust made it uncomfortable to use though. The noise from neighbors was much worse than our experiences on Oasis class ships and caused us some restless nights.

Ship tip

The ship is good as a mode of transportation, but not great as an attraction itself. Pick an itinerary with ports you will explore as its not worth staying on the ship when in port.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5
Very industrial. But super close to the airport and highways which was great for our purpose. Not busy at all compared to Miami or Port Canaveral.

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

4 out of 5
Nice that there's a public beach close to the dock. Waters were beautiful with sea turtles to watch from onboard the ship.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
We did the Tortola views and beach tour. It was an experience taking the open bus up the winding hills. Great views of the surrounding sea and islands. The guide was local and knowledgable. 2 hours at the beach was a bit short considering we were back at the ship 2 hours before departure.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Great as always. Everything here is top notch. Some weird stuff floating on the water in the ocean at south beach, but once out at the sand bar it was beautiful.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
smooth with good crowd spacing.
