Review summary

We really had a great time on this cruise. Other than some nickel and diming issues we had at the beginning with our drink package, where we were assured we could use our package on Friday, October 6th, they tried to tell us we couldn't. After some arguing, they agreed to honor it, and credited our account when we turned our receipts. Overall, it was everything we hoped it would be.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was fine. RC took us straight from the airport as promised to the ship because of the condition of San Juan. No glitches.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
After some haggling with the front desk over covering our drink package the Friday we arrived, the drink experience was great! The food in the Windjammer was not great. I don't know if that was from complications from all the storms, but the food in the upgraded restaurants was excellent.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There's something for everyone at any given time of the day. We took advantage of the walking track and the adult pool area. No complaints.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We thought the shows and comedians were outstanding. Very talented and funny.

Children's Programs

Empty Nester's Cruise!!!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every single one of our servers were just top notch. They obviously cared about doing a good job and making our stay as enjoyable as possible. We were particularly pleased with our room steward, Vanessa Baptiste, and our bar steward by the pool, Mac. Nevell and Gunawan were very good as well.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very open and spacious and always clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The one was spacious and Vanessa kept it immaculate. The balcony was a nice treat. I would bring my own shampoo next time.

Ports of call

Hurricane damage. Went straight to the ship

Philipsburg, St. Maarten Did not visit port

Rerouted to Martinique due to Hurricane damage

Basseterre, St. Kitts

It was pretty in places, but just really run down and not well maintained. Old hurricane damage.

St. John's, Antigua

4 out of 5
Very nice. We rode horses on the beach.

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
The prettiest place we visited. I would return here for an extended stay.

Bridgetown, Barbados

4 out of 5
The most commercial port (other than Martinique which we didn't visit). Enjoyed our Mt. Gay Rum tour!
