Best vacation ever! We meet great people and had a great time. Had only cruised on NCL previously but are now RCL converts! Even with the concerns about Irma, RCL made this an excellent cruise.
Embarkation

First time in a suite and the price difference is so worth the express embarkation. The regular line was huge and it was very hot, in the sun, and humid. In the suite check in it took less than 5 minutes from arrival, luggage drop and getting our sea pass cards!

Disappointed in the specialty restaurants. Giovanni's only 1 of 4 items ordered was good. The seafood was fishy and tough. Chops Grille my husbands filet was OK but mine was the toughest, inedible, piece of steak I have ever tried to eat. I thought it was telling that our server Igor did not ask me if there was a problem since none of it was eaten. The main dining was awesome. Never had anything less than great and our service was impeccable.

Pool was less crowded that other ships we have been on. Always able to find a chair and able to use the pool.
Entertainment

We loved Chester in the Schooner Bar. Great musician, singer and entertainer. Enjoyed all the trivia, game shows, and scavenger hunt!
Service and Staff

Our steward Dennis was amazing. He went above and way beyond excellent service. We head great waiters, bar tenders, and other personnel were awesome. Captain Tomas Busto did an excellent job keeping us informed of Hurricane Irma and changed our itinerary from St. Kitts to Bonaire which was an excellent port. He gave updates every 4 hours which relieved and weather concerns.

Sold out sailing but never felt crowded. Our cabin was near the stairwell and elevator which was a concern but we never had and sound problems.
Cabin / Stateroom

great cabin. walk in closet. tons of cabinet space. Full size tub was great. I would stay in this cabin again. We gave up and aft facing balcony to have a suite and it was a great choice!
Ship tip
For this cruise with ports in St. Thomas, Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire, the port side of the ship faced to port so you got to wake up to a view of each island. May not always work that way but I had read that somewhere and took the gamble and it paid off!
Very blessed the San Juan did not sustain serious damage from Irma and we had a place to return to. The people of San Juan were very kind and generous even though they were cleaning up after the storm.
The island was starting to evacuate and understandably many things were closed. We ate lunch at Glady's Cafe and it was amazing. Very sad to see the damage from Irma. Hope to return soon to help boost their economy.
Love this island. Did a tour with Irie Tours and had AISHA ROOKER as our guide. She was a delight, very knowledgeable and allowed us to get to know a more personable side of the island.
Two great snorkel experiences. But the best was a beach front, sunset dinner at Passions on the Beach restaurant. Our server Styne was excellent and the meal was delicious.
Should have gotten off earlier than 2.5 hour before flight. It took 45 minutes to go thru customs. We expected to have express disembarkation since we had it for embarkation but the port worker was only letting Gold or disabled passengers thru. Using a porter would have been faster also and worth the tips.
