I would say this was a nice cruise and the ship has enough features and things to do for both young and older guests. The ship does need updating which we were told is due next May.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
We had to wait in a very long line outside in 90 degree temperature to unload our luggage.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was tasteless. We decided the buffet had more of a variety and the quality of the food tasted better. We did not try any of the specialty restaurants. The drinks that we had did not seem like there was much liquor in them. I am not a big drinker and I could have a couple of drinks with no effect.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
This ship seems to have more activities than on a previous cruise we had taken. They had some pool activities to entertain guests especially during sea days.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The ice show on this ship was amazing. I would highly recommend seeing this. The first comedian show was good as well as the magician show. The last show with the comedian was not good although he was good at juggling.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our waiter in the main dining room had no personality. Did not make fine dining exciting.
Our room steward did his job but did not go above or beyond what his job entailed.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was clean but well worn. It needs an updating.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The room was clean but well worn. For a balcony room it did not meet our other cruise line standards.
Ship tip
Consider eating in the Windjammer buffet instead of the dining room. The buffet has so much more to food to offer.
This was our first visit to this island and enjoyed the Explour Aruba Tour. One thing that surprised us about this island as well as Curacao are both island are like deserts. Not much greenery or flowers.
This was a much better experience than our embarkation. You first had to claim your luggage and than wait in a long line for customs but at least you did this inside instead of outside.
Adventures of the sea was dry docked last fall but could not finish all the renovations due to the Hurricanes last season. It's being dry docked again in January to finish the renovations and will be ready for our cruise the last week of February 2018.
I've read online it was being remodeled again this winter for a Corinth but people in postings on this app have said they are done now and others said not till May. We cruise in March excited either way. Curious if you or anyone can confirm.
