Review summary

I am not usually all that critical of a traveler. I always immediately see where improvements can be made but I also know that on a cruise ship with so many folks constantly on and off the ships you have to be realistic. I have cruised with Royal Caribbean in the past and loved it, but on this trip I was completely shocked at the conditions on board. The title of this review pretty much sums up the conditions on Adventure of the Seas - DIRTY! I have photos of the condition of our balcony stateroom and in the dining room. Drawers were broken and would not close the phone did not work, the rust on the framework of the bathroom, a dirty stained toilet. There were stains and hair on the couch and chair. The rest of the ship was no better - food and dirt on the ledges in the dining room and on the carpet. It looked like they hadn't vacuumed for a week. I even found dirt inside my utensil napkin when I unrolled it. I got sick while on board which has NEVER happened before and when I went down to the medical office (1st time ever and have been cruising since 2002) even the waiting room was dirty. Crumbs on end tables and floor was dirty. I do have to say that the itinerary was exceptional on this cruise but my husband and I have pretty much decided we are going to pass on Royal Caribbean for the foreseeable future due to the conditions on board this ship.

Friendly but did have an issue with staff when boarding the ship and someone accidentally grabbed our belongings off the conveyor belt and they would not stop the belt so we could see if my husbands wallet was stuck somewhere. I would have understood if there was a huge crowd but there wasn't.

From my experience with reviews for every 20 or so great reviews you will find one negative nellie that probably finds everything in life to be as bad as the cruise!!! ;)

I was on the ship in September and I didn't experience anything that the OP experienced. Yes, it's an older ship but there were constantly people cleaning and keeping the ship tidy.

wow this is not good the ship is going into dry dock and we crusie this ship in April 2017,I have done royal before hopefully it will be different

My wife and I had our first cruise aboard AOS in October.... we loved it so much we booked another cruise on AOS(Different itinerary) for Jan '17... we liked it so much we even booked the same room... have a great time, as I'm sure you will.

We go on this ship 14th May along with thousands of others and I was very upset reading this post at first then my husband commented that this is just k ne persons opinion if it was that bad why hadn't others complained. This will be our first cruise so nor going to let it affect my enjoyment

Mary50 our first cruise on the Adventure of the Seas has been amazing!! We find it all quite magical. I am sure that you will enjoy the experience too. Today is our cruising day home, so we get time to enjoy all the great amenities on board. The ports have been fabulous.

The cruise will be fun it what you make of ee always have a great time. I love bring waited on and spoiled. Hate to have to go home at the end of the crusie.

so I guess I have nothing to look forward to in life ...not even my first cruise :( : ( was even the gorgeous Caribbean ocean and sunsets also dirty or did you find some beauty somewhere? ?

Our room Stewart was great and we has d great dinner servers . The show were ok . We have cruised with R C 6 times now and be going out on the Allure in may. Have always enjoyed RC cruises. The crews are always friendly.

The ship is getting ready to go to dry dock for upgrades. We were on the ship the end of February. We noticed it needs to be up dated. But that should not stop you from cruising on RC

We were on Allure in Nov. And Brilliance in January and both ship were very clean...... yes and I am picky😉

Definitely need to bring this to RC's attention. That is just gross. I am sure that this is not a company wide issue and I wouldn't just give up sailing with Royal Caribbean because of the conditions of this ship.
