Review summary
The islands were beautiful and I enjoyed the cruise despite several issues. I cruised on this ship two years ago and in comparing that experience with this one, it seemed that this time the ship was under-staffed, the entertainment was weak, and there were odor issues. Our room had an offensive odor, which was handled by a carpet cleaning on day two, and this left a "carpet fresh" odor over the original odor. We were told the ship was full and couldn't move to another cabin. Other than removing some minor expenses from our bill, and offering to move us on day 5 (which we declined at that point), the customer service was unacceptable. Also, while watching a comedienne in the theater, we had to leave due to a strong sewer odor. It appears to me that the focus for Royal Caribbean must be on their newer and bigger ships. However, the dining on this ship was excellent. Another piece of advice...do not fly out of San Juan on the same day your cruise ends. The airport was complete chaos and after standing in line several hours we were told that we were bumped off of our flight. The airport was much calmer and less crowded the following day. Again, the islands were fabulous, especially Antigua and Barbados. So I highly recommend the islands, but not on this ship.Ship experiences
