the tenders are not fit for the disabled. It was a horrible experience for my husband. He did not tender at the second port. Although the staff on the tenders were extremely helpful, the boat is not adequate for wheelchairs and it should be made clear on the description of the cruise. Disabled not able to use tenders!

Downton Abbey at sea by Cruiser27859287

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crystal Serenity / Destination: North America

The cruise was like living at Downton Abbey; the service was impeccable the food delicious the atmosphere wonderful. I was especially impressed when I lost a very nice bracelet one night and the next morning there it was in the lost and found; I wonder if that would have happened in any other situation or on any other cruise line. The activities were varied and worthwhile but there were also ample places to just "escape", curl up with a book and enjoy the view. All of the passenger were friendly one was welcome "to join " if there were few empty seats during the pre dinner cocktail gatherings.

My only complaint was the transfer day from Quebec City to Montreal. It was certainly not an "all inclusive " day.  Neither lunch nor dinner was provided. We did have time for a brief lunch in Vieux Montreal but not enough time to walk around that section. Instead of starting the day with a cursory bus tour of Quebec (most people had spent the previous day touring the city), that hour should have been used for exploring Montreal. There were really 9 not 10 all inclusive days. Some of the dissatisfaction could have been reduced if we had been more fully informed about the details of the transit day  - either at the time of booking or on board prior to our disembarking from the ship. More than one bathroom stop between Quebec and Montreal would have been appreciated, as there were no facilities on the bus

Great Cruise Experience by markw268

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We haven't sailed on Princess Cruise Line for a long time, what a mistake. This cruise line gives the little extras that the others don't have. Larger inside rooms for storage and movies on deck with Pop-Corn. The meals given were large portions with many choices. The wait staff were efficient and friendly. We had many activities throughout the day. Which included: Tour of Kitchen, playing bridge Trivia contests, etc.  Overall, a great vacation. Thank you Vacation outlet for the reservation.Happy

Interesting Itinerary. Average Ship. by Kileykb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Being able to visit different parts of California in one trip was great. The ship was average. Nothing terrible, but nothing memorable. The best food I had on the ship was the Bircher Muesli for breakfast. The entertainment was Ok. The lead female vocalist was wonderful. The male lead vocalist had pitch problems. The singing and dancing numbers were too imaginative. Simple would have been better. The Magician and Mentalist were redundant. Since they both had multiple shows it was too much. The comedian had too narrow a repertoire. I didn't find him funny. He also was overused. All the food was pretty good. Mongolian night and Bavarian night at the buffet seemed unpopular. I only chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was fabulous.

A transcanal cruise above-and-beyond our expectations!!! by rlee2102

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: North America

We had so looked forward to doing an extended cruise with Celebrity and one with ports-of-call where we hadn't visited before. This was the cruise we selected even though we had visited 2 of the ports on the Infinity's itinerary, but that didn't bother us one bit.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything on this 16-day cruise, most of all the fact that the days in port were alternated with days at sea, allowing for a variety of activities plus some relaxation.

Overall, the great service we received at all times from the crew and staff of the celebrity.  Special thanks to Mr. J.W., the Hotel Director on board!

Wonderful Cruise but could have been better by dbrim36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: North America

We loved the Panama Canal and some of the other ports of calll.  The guest lecturers and nightime shows were great.  Two small complaints.  The Xcellerate internet on the ship was a joke and was continually up and down or slow.  We had one issue with the front desk that was not handled to our satisfaction and almost cost us $200 due to Celebrity's Tender service, yet they would not acknowledge their mistake.

On the plus side the bars and staffs were great, the food was very good, and the activity staff worked very hard to make the cruise enjoyable.

Celebrity is still my favorite cruise line by far.

Had a Great Time! by bookmarct

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: North America

The food was excellent, although the PRESENTATION of meals in the main dining was better on Carnival. The service was outstanding. Our servers were absolute delights. My only real negative was the transfer from SFO to the port.

Celebrity would not allow us to pre-pay since we we not arriving on a flight that day. (we came early, rented a car & returned the car to the airport on sail day).

Carnival does this no problem.

We were told we could pay at the airport. But when we arrived they told us NO. You have to take a cab. We had to get Celebrity on the phone, supervisors involved etc. to get a ride. AND the bus driver told us "I Don't Know" when we asked where to go when he dropped everyone off at the port. Unacceptable.

All things considered, Celebrity was: good food, good service, nice itinerary, older crowd & ship needed a little TLC but for the price & itinerary it was a good deal.

Ain't What It Use To Be by meatballj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: North America

After 18 cruises we have come to the conclusion that the benefits that you once received have been slowly eroded away. While the staff is so delightful and the ship so grand, it's the things that have disappeared that come to mind. Celebrity use to be at the top when it came to their food. That has slipped to the middle of the pack. I have never seen so much fatty + gristly beef. Portions are very small. If the intent is to force you into the specialty restaurants then make sure that what they serve is of a better quality than more fatty + grisly beef. The internet is slow and expensive, include it in the pricing of the cruise. Internet is a way of life.

The itinerary was very nice with many great ports of call and with many expensive shore excursion options.

Queen Mary 2 cruise by drjar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: North America

There were several things that were excellent: the ship, the ports of call, and the food. The staff behaviors could  be improved as we were always rushed at dinner and they almost never granted us right of way in the halls or King's Court. I would definitely recommend this cruise, or another on the QM2, to others.

Poor customer service. Staff looked tired and overworked. by meguez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We enjoyed the balcony and great weather. We used the assigned table at the Botticcelli Restoran only the first day. The beverage server was pleasant, the waiter had a look like if our questions bother him. A third server kept talking vulgar Spanish words, so uncomfortable that I called his attention, it was impossible to have a pleasant evening with someone cursing every two words. Under the bed we found a bag full of dirty clothes and the drawers had papers dated as far as 2014. There is lack of management, complete disengament from staff with passengers. Looks like everything were done because it must be done but with no pleasure of doing it. Sad the tips are pre-paid 90% interacting with us didn't deserve it. First and last Princess cruise for us. Thank God this wasn't our first cruise if not we will never try again. Thanks for the opportunity to share our experience.

Family Outing by shevy59

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: North America

We sailed with 2 brothers and sister and their spouses.  We had a good time together.  We were disappointed with the cruise itself though.  We bought the ultimate beverage package, but bottled water and cappuccino was an extra charge.  Also there were upcharges in the main dining rooms.  Thought that the food could have been better.  They also held promotional meetings in the common areas, so it was hard to relax in the pub nearby.

Great cruise to remember by rajyermsncom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: North America

The friendly crew provided good service to be thankful for.

Enjoyed the following shore excursions very much:

Views of Halifax, Saint John Highlights, Lighthouses of Maine, and Great Mansions & Newport Highlights.

Will gladly recommend this cruise to our friends family to take.

We enjoyed the cruise thanks to the exceptional service at the Bars, Restaurants, and the casino.

No need to change anything, just keep on doing what you do best!

Beautiful Ship -- Too Many Selling Pitches by thepomas1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Regal Princess / Destination: North America

Ship was very pleasant, many modern amenities.  Clean.  Good entertainment options.  Food selections and preparation were equal to the best we've experienced among the 10 cruises we've taken.

Staff was very polite and responsive.  Could have used more staff members on duty both at the passenger service counter and at the shore excursion desk during peak times.  I waited a half-hour in line at the excursion desk before I could get to an agent.

Wait times for tenders at the Newport R.I. dock exceeded 1 hour.  I decided not to wait and never went ashore.

I was extremely disappointed with the continuous attempts to sell extras, such as a special champagne/wine with dinner, specialty restaurants, and drink packages.  Got tired of hearing all the "commercials".

Also disappointed with what seemed like being nickeled and dimed to death with extra costs.  Small things like being charged extra for a "to go" coffee because we asked for a paper cup with a lid so we could take it back to the cabin--and being charged for a bingo marker after spending $40 to play.  The costs are not what is irritating, it's again the idea that these things are extra. I'd say just put the cost into the price of the cruise and charge a little more ($5-$10 per person).

Fall Cruise by Sneed1980

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The food was above average for most ships. Majority of the workers were friendly and helpful. The shows on board seemed a little out dated. Not many activities to do inside.

Some problems but not major by dzeke24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Regal Princess / Destination: North America

The people we were with made the cruise   There were some problems  The staff in the casino did not explain well the charges on the tab or knew the correct bingo charges.  They needed to know the English language better  3400 of the people on the cruise spoke English  The staff should have been the same proportion

Not The Royal I am used to by pak4u

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: North America

This was my 4th time on Explorer. The other 3 times have been out of Bayonne NJ either to Bermuda or Canada. These trips were enjoyable with good food, entertainment and service.

Not quite the same on this coastal trip.  Firstly, although it is called coastal, you only get to see the coast on your way in or out of port.Nervous

Also the trip was in Oct, so no surprise, it was cold and rainy, yet most of the tail activities were scheduled for outdoors (most were cancelled or unattended).  The big option for indoor entertainment was Trivia.  Unfortunately, everyone on the ship was there so unless you got there an hour ahead there was no seating (or pencils for that matter).

Food was just ok with little variety.

We did not see our cabin attendant for the first few daysSurprised.  but the one bright note is that he was very attentive.  He saw we had a bottle of wine in our cabin and brought us wine glassesHappy I hate the sheets being tucked and without being asked, he left them untucked after the first night. Nice!Big Smile

Loved stops in Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Victoria. Could have skipped Astoria (San Diego, Monterey or even an extra day in San Francisco would have been nicer).
