A great, relaxing trip by TomF16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The staff was attentive and the ship comfortable and inviting. My daughter loved the teen program. We were disappointed that one of our shore excursions was canceled, but I cannot complain since it was a weather and safety issue. The New Zealand fjords were unbelievable. The pools and hot tubs were not crowded.

needs improvement by JudyF3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

This was our 15th cruise, 5th time on Princess. Flew to Auckland, stayed one night precruise for 1/23/07 sailing NZ-australia. The ship itself is beautiful and clean. The cruise director was useless and there was no information on the ports. It was all do it yourself. Luckily, we were prepared and had already booked private excursions. We had anytime dining which worked out well. the weather was not the best, we had very rough seas crossing the Tasman Sea and were late to Hobart by 8 hours.

Better by land by JudyF3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The ship itself was beautiful. We had a small inside cabin on Plaza level. The Cruise director was pretty useless and there was a lack of information about the ports. We also had very rough seas on the Tasman and several days of rain including the Fiords. We took some very good independent shore excursions and did Christchurch and Melbourne on our own. We were 8 hours late getting to Hobart so we just went to Bonorong which we enjoyed. Sydney was our favorite and we spent 3 extra days there. This is an itinerary better done on land though.

Q.M.2 maiden around the world cruise - by LorrainePerkins

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

From San Francisco to Sydney Australia portion.  Fantastic.

Have been on many other cruises but can't remember enough to be pinned down on lines and dates.  One cruise to Alaska.  At least four in the Caribbean - Western and Eastern.  Three or four from California to Mexico.  Have cruised on the Cunard, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Holland America, Celebrity and one other that has since disappeared.  Never cruised in Europe.  I particularly like the Royal Caribbean line.

Travel is a blessing and a priveledge. This trip was years in the planning and did not disappoint. It will forever be a highlight with many memories made. Were treated so well by friendly people and the sight and experiences in Australia were one of a kind.

Beautiful New Zealand by Poncholaurie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Ship is beautiful, staff are the friendliest,🤗 Drink prices are too high ($18-$20) for most cocktails. Definitely pushing the upgrades here. Wasn’t enough waiter’s in the main lounge, met my friend for a cocktail before dinner every night and would take 20 minutes to get a drink 😡

Bucket list trip, once and done. by redskins7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Noordam

I’m glad I got to experience these countries. I would love to do Sydney again, but I’m sure not I want to travel that far. I’m a very cold natured person and I didn’t realize how cool New Zealand would be. After researching, I realize we were only 3,500+ miles from the South Pole. Not far when you consider the weather streams. I can say I wouldn’t do a this cruise again because most of the stops didn’t offer a lot that interest me. I more enjoy the larger cities.

Disappointing experience by Ysanne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess

A disappointing experience. Paid high price for a budget type cruise. Boat was old and in need of a make over. Shops were overpriced and there was a lack of a chemist on board for bathroom necessities, sanitary products and Panadol and seasick pills. Food was nothing special.

Vive La Virgin Difference by TerryOC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Resilient Lady

Just about everything aboard Virgin Voyages' ships is different to other cruise lines' efforts. It's as though Branston told his design team to start from scratch and ignore everything the others were doing. No cruise director; no public announcements; no buffets; no conventional drinks packages; no kids; and a fascinating adult-oriented acrobatic floorshow in one of the theatres - one where some of the acrobats mingled during the performance with the audience, who were entranced when they weren't ducking for cover. Well done, Virgin, and we'll see you again in 2025.

Long delayed Retirement Cruise by Dad4jc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess

Enjoyed the variety of stops and visiting so many ports. Favorite time was on deck as we traversed the Fjordland National Park. The ship did a 360 turn at the end and then exited the Fjords. So we got to view both sides. Added stops in Fiji on the way over and also the way back. It helped break up the long flights from the US. Also stopped in Honolulu for two days on the way back. This was a much delayed retirement cruise as Australia was closed to travelers during the Pandemic.

Need Vacation from my Vacation by brendahamlin61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

This was a very relaxing cruise and I enjoyed hanging with many people who were from Sydney or Australia. I learned a lot about Australia in general and New Zealand is beautiful and the only insects they have are bees. The flower gardens and the green areas are just beautiful. The water is so colorful you cannot get enough. I would do this cruise again, but I would do one back to back where they do Australia and New Zealand to see so much more.

DO NOT CRUISE WITH ROYAL CARIBBEAN by ReneCG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

If i could do a review for a MINUS score i would because i am appalled at the plain and simple discrimination and dictatorship by Royal Caribbean cruise line. I do not drink alcohol and avoid any type of processed food, sugary drinks, artificial colors etc... i choose to drink filtered water only, i know what you are all thinking BORING, i know. however it is my choice. I was just informed by Royal Caribbean that i HAD to book an alcohol package or at the very least refreshment package if my husband wanted one, and if i booked this to be eligible for a refund i would need to send proof in the form of a medical certificate to state why i didn't want these other drinks and that would be the only consideration they would make was due to a medical condition. I have never been so appalled and i have contacted the Federal Maritime commission to take this further but just for anyone to be aware, do not give this company a cent of your money.
