Review summary

This was a very relaxing cruise and I enjoyed hanging with many people who were from Sydney or Australia. I learned a lot about Australia in general and New Zealand is beautiful and the only insects they have are bees. The flower gardens and the green areas are just beautiful. The water is so colorful you cannot get enough. I would do this cruise again, but I would do one back to back where they do Australia and New Zealand to see so much more.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Arrived just before my time and only had to wait a few minutes and the port was easy to navigate

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I have allergies and it was easy to get food that I could eat no matter where I chose to dine

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I am a trivia girl and had fun even though I am not good at it.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Most of the shows were great. The juggler and comedian left a little to be desired. Music was awesome and could find what you wanted in different bars.

Children's Programs

I travel solo with no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all polite and enjoyed communicating when they saw you.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I used to think bigger ships were no fun as you usually did not see the same people twice, but this was not true with this ship. I met a few people and we became friends and did things together on and off ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size was perfect for me and the balcony was good to view as I sat and had tea in the morning. I had plenty of drawers and closet space for my items and a couch to sit on in the room. It was cleaned daily but I did ask him not to change the sheets and towels daily to help save the waves.

Ship tip

Try all the venues before you decide what you enjoy best. This was the first time, I tried the other restaurants and happy I did.

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia Did not visit port

Not enough time to see all the things that Sydney had to offer.

Picton, New Zealand

5 out of 5
It was fun and I did the excursion to Edwin Fox Museum and learned a lot of things about this ship that I had no idea it was involved in.

Napier, New Zealand

5 out of 5
The double decker bus was the way to see this, it had enough stops to take pictures and to grab items to eat. I am a history buff and so I again learned a lot about this area. Including that they have a lot of earthquakes, which I never knew they had.

Wellington, New Zealand

4 out of 5
Wellington itself is beautiful. I would not do the Weta workshop or the Lord of the Rings tour again. It is just sites where they filmed but if you have not seen the movies, it really doesn't make sense to you.

Christchurch, New Zealand

5 out of 5
This was another one where I did a history tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and again they had some very interesting locations that were part of the recent earthquakes and how they build them so they withstand them. California could learn from this.

Port Chalmers (Dunedin), New Zealand Did not visit port

Weather kept us from visiting

Cruise Dusky Sound Did not visit port

Cruise Doubtful Sound Did not visit port

Cruise Milford Sound Did not visit port

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was able to get off when I wanted and they were ahead of schedule and so I nearly missed my shuttle to the airport.
