Great Mexican Getaway by KGArt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

We love Holland America Line and while this particular voyage wasn't our best experience, it was still wonderful and well worth it!

Relaxing, but could have been better by Salty99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

Never experienced the Mexican Riveria from a cruise before, so I don't know how typical the trip was. I do know that the boat had a lot of motion and was difficult to sleep at times. The pool was actually sloshing over at times due to all the motion. Our last trip was to the Carribbean and was much smoother. If you're prone to sea-sickness, be aware. The shops didn't even sell basic medicines, band-aids, etc., although they had a LOT of T shirts. LOL

Very enjoyable by CasualHockeyFan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Mexico

My 20th cruise, but first on Princess. I'm not sure I'd rush back for a few reasons. One, there loyalty program is terrible IMO. My mom is a platinum member and got almost nothing for it other than a special check in line, which was no faster than the normal line. Two, the price Princess quoted was more than through . Oh, she did get 150 minutes of free Internet!

Mexican Riviera Cruise by mayersr10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Splendor / Destination: Mexico

The cruise was a great getaway for the price. All the staff and service on board were friendly and helpful when needed. I wish there were a little more activities and games during the sea days but the ones they did have were still fun to participate in.

Worse cruise ever. Rude and really slow service, the Staff/crew ruined this trip. They did not earn the gratuity we were charged. by maylanwalker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Mexico

Worse cruise I have ever been on. Staff/crew were horrible. Slow, rude, argumentative. I walked into an elevator and stepped in someone’s vomit. When I called on the phone for help to get someone to clean it I ways yelled at and they hung up on me.

Rejuvinating Caribbean Cruise by gold4us21

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Mexico

The cruise, overall, was good but not exceptional. This cruise lacked many fine amenities of other cruises in the same NCL line as well as other lines in general.

too many rude, pushy ill mannered people on board by jsmenard62

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Mexico

will not travel on Princess again...you get what you pay for...the crew was unable to control the rude, pushy ill mannered passengers that took up all of the seating and camped out in the dining rooms and open areas - way too many people on this ship - kept to our mini suite that saved the day... cancelled a future trip after this experience...never thought that I was prejudice...but now I am after this trip.

A great cruise! by campingsopas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

We really thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. This was our 2nd cruise. See the comedy shows and the 70's rock and roll show they are both GREAT! Enjoy the good food and desserts. We mostly ate in the dining room ("anytime dining" was good and we did not wait too long to get seated). The buffet on the lido deck was ALWAYS packed and so we did not really eat there although that is an option. Pool is small and outdoors so we did not use it as it was way too cold in December. There are two hot tubs in the adults only area (aft of the ship, deck 9 maybe?) which were nice with a nearby bar. We enjoyed that once. In Ensenada there is a Zipline and ropes bridge course that is so fun. ('LaCanopy"?) It is a bit far from the ship. You can get there by taxi or Uber I understand. We used a company called "Ensenadatourguide.com" and booked it online and we LOVED it. They pick you up and take you there and wait for you and then take you somewhere else, etc... I highly recommend this company as it is affordable and the guide Fernando was AWESOME and spoke English and was very helpful and accommodating. (see Trip Advisor for advice on things to do in Ensenada). I really liked this cruise and the ship was nice and clean and staff was helpful. I was a little uncertain about Carnival because I know it is 'entry level" but we were very happy! Affordable little get-away!!!

I'll never book a cabin lower than the 7 deck ever again! And never anything in the forward or aft of the ship again!

fun-filled getaway by SanDiegoCruisin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

Enjoyed the on-board entertainment, shows and piano bar (Kat Krull was fantastic), trivia, karaoke, and more. Wish there was more than one place to dance though, since it turned into club music after the first hour or so. Also, enjoyed the spa, but had an issue with being told we had a particular discount when booking and them not making good on it when paying. The manager was involved and wouldn't honor what we had been told, and gave us quite an attitude about it. Poor customer service at spa desk! But the treatments were great.

Older ship but still a lot of fun by sweetskills

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

Overall we enjoyed the cruise a lot. The food was alright, pretty good in the dining room but mediocre at the buffets. The service in the dining room left something to be desired but overall the staff was really courteous and tried to remember your name whenever they spoke to you. Unfortunately one of the hot tubs was broken so it packed the others more. Otherwise prepare to get upsold on EVERYTHING. That was the biggest negative.
