Our favorite of all cruises! by Bjacobson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Prinsendam / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This tour covers such historic areas. The lectures on the ship helped us prepare for our tours. We had excellent guides and the overnight in Israel was really the best way to see all the historic areas of Israel. Due to traffic, our bus returned late. Upon our return, the staff at Holland America, had champagne waiting for us and told us (it was almost 9 PM that the dining room was ready to serve us dinner.

I have been on several cruises and this has to be one of the best fun filled cruises with exceptional ports of call. I would do this one again!

The exploration of Israel made the entire trip worthwhile; Jerusalem is amazing; Greece is friendly and warm; Naples and Pompeii are interesting and the Amalfi coast is beautiful.

Fantastic Voyage on The Muse by aczujko

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Silver Muse / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Our trip will be a fond memory because of the entire staff of the ship. Although service was not always perfect, every crew member that we encountered never failed to make us feel welcome and pleased that we chose the Muse as our first (but not last) Silver Sea voyage.

Fantastic Journey by mauityme1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I fortunately our ship was hit with Norovirus, the staff did contain it but there were a lot of foreigners who did not speak English and personally sanitation levels vary across different countries, so expect to be vigilant, and don’t use public restrooms, and touch anything like railings or elevator buttons

Nice ! by ruhe1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The company has gotten to big and customer service is down . They don't seem to know what is going on all the time. It seems that you have to do things a few times for them to get it right.

Norovirus by italy53lv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

After 3 days onboard a Norovirus outbreak got me very sick. I was confined to my cabin and missed tours in Athens and Mykonos. Many passengers were sick as the outbreak spread. On day 6 there was a second outbreak and many more passengers became sick. This ship has had several outbreaks in recent years. Read about it on the internet.

Wonderful Cruise by tlauscher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

we just felt a little like step children being in the small majority that got on the ship in Rome. It just seemed like the Barcelona people were more important. Not sure why but we just got that feeling. No fan fair when we got on. Then we had 5000 new people get on mid sail?? Just seemed weird to us.....

Great Cruise Amsterdam to Lisbon by bjdaniell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Marina / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Our fellow passengers were a classy group of well traveled cruisers. Over 70% had sailed with Oceania in the past. Ship holds 1,250 passengers, which allows for a great mix of folks. The food was delicious in the specialty restaurants as well as the Main Dining Room, Terrace Cafe & Waves Grill. I highly recommend Oceania!!

Good cruise ship but crowded by ak3e

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was our first time cruising on the Epic and while we found the ship beautiful we learned that a bigger ship is just not to our liking. The breakfast buffet was a nightmare of people and a disorganized layout of food. I wound up walking around it several times before I found everything I wanted and even returning again the next day didn't make the experience any easier. We learned that at the Irish O'Sheehans we could get seated quickly and the small menu fit our tastes for what we wanted in breakfast fare without all the mass of people. The service was fast and we could pretty much order what we wanted, prepared how we wanted...as long as the food item was on the menu I could order it. We also tried breakfast at the Taste restaurant and found it better than the throngs of people at the buffet.

First Time Cruising - but not my last! by AJgirl2018

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

A terrific time! Very busy everyday - not enough time in some of the ports but a great excuse to go back! Attentive staff, clean and easy to find your way around. Just plan to take the stairs rather than wait for the elevators before/after shows. Plenty of room for everyone but the buffet is busy before everyone leaves for excursions. Good entertainment on board - especially Cirque and the Dueling Pianos! Great dinners - and a perfectly comfortable mini suite. Looking forward to my next cruise already!

Good Itinerary by akajoebess

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This is the third cruise for us. All of which have been on Norwegian, so even though I ding them on food, I keep going back to them. For me, the best meal was breakfast, whether at the Garden Cafe buffet or at O'Sheehans (sp?). Booking excursions at every port can be exhausting if the meeting time is 8AM or earlier as you tend to stay up late at night and then need to get up early to have breakfast and meet the tour. I was glad we made our own plans in Cannes and didn't plan an organized excursion in Mallorca. The day at sea was very relaxing. One thing we didn't know was that we began our trip at Cicitavecchia but others started from Barcellona. So when we got to Barcelona, some folks got off the boat and new cruisers got on. This isn't problematic except that there seemed to be more competition for restaurant and show reservations, which is why I said to show up even if the show is fully reserved.

Lousy experience - NCL made 3 last minute changes in itinerary - had to board in Copenhagen instead of Warnemunde (after we were already in Germany), then couldn't dock in Helsinki nor in Stockholm by TXPoleman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Very poor, last minute communication of itinerary changes. Still hope to see Berlin, Helsinki and Stockholm someday, but it won't be on this cruise line.
