A Great Experience by ammetzler

Ship: Wind Star / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We \"Yachted the Mediterranean\" on the \"Windstar\" and had a great experience. The raising of the sails accompanied by very moving music is a memory that we will treasure forever. The staff was very attentive, the food was excellent and the staterooms and common areas were quite appropriate. The ship even had a great medical doctor onboard. we met some wonderful people and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Compared to other Dam ships that were older, this ship showed signs of very poor quality

Great cruise on the Norwegian Jade by kaelafine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Had a great time on the Norwegian Jade with my sister. We especially enjoyed the dinner in the Tappenyaki restaurant. The crew members were a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the trivia contests. Made some friends with other guests. It was easy getting off and on the ship.

Fun way to see great destinations by kathykelley1

Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Ship was huge: too big. My impression was that the "extra space" allowed them to charge for extra services rather than provide extra services as part of the regular price. The top 4 decks were dedicated to a special class of passengers, and closed to rest of us. There was an "ice bar"-$50/head, Dinner theatre (about $45/head). 6 restaurants for a fee (in addition to about 4 w/no extra fee. The gym was large enough to accommodate everyone even on at sea days. (a plus).

DISAPPOINTING SHIP by LouiseG3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

As we boarded for our 11 night cruise on July 24, we knew right away, we would be disappointed. The condition of the ship is poor. The ship needs a major refurbishiing if they want to compete with Princess and Celebrity. The food in the dining room was ok but waiters always seemed overwhelmed by the quantity of customers. The size of the appetizer course was tiny. The soups were good and the main entrees tasteful but not gourmet like Celebrity. Not much selection, a lot of beef, very little fish. Dessert were ordinary. Our cabin steward was the only positive asset on this cruise.

Never Again! by Warnk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The noise from the air condition was very very loud in our cabins. It caused so much noise that we could not sleep. Our remarks were not answered to our satisfaction. We received the answer that no other cabins are free. After a few discussions, a balcony cabin was offerd. Unfortunately, it was also very loud in there. So the technician came a couple of times and did something with the air condition in our cabin. After that it was a little bit more silent but not very much.

My resume: It is an old ship. The technical inventory is not up to date. For example our balcony was very dirty every day from the smokestack. Food was good. Customer satisfaction and recovery was bad. I will never go again on such an old ship like this one.

12 days Mediterranean. by jabisamandi

Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We did have a great time in the ship. It was well maintained. We loved the service that we received from our steward, Agung. We had a wonderful time in dining in the Sunset Restaurant, thanks to the manager, Goran and his serving staff, in particular, our head waiter, Stevislav and his assistant, Mirza. We had a wonderful time in the Casino as well thanks to all the Casino staff especially, Alexandra and Vicky. They made our time there so entertaining! They added to the highlight of our time on the ship!Excursions were well organized and excellent!

A Fabulous Honeymoon! by misslaferriere

The ship was clean and visually appealing, but there were too many children at the Piano bar and creating a ruckus at event and by the hot tubs; in fact, there were children doing cannonballs into the hot tubs..

Not exactly what I was expecting by henryed

Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship itself has been refurbished and I was happy with the facilities. It is an older ship so the bells and whistles are minimal but overall it was pleasant. Now, they have opted to interport on this ship in the Med to compete with MSC and Costa. I did NOT know that when booking and I was floored by the change in clientele. I witnessed 2 separate domestic disputes in the hallways where I felt like i needed to go get help...I would never travel on an interporting ship again. AND the toll it takes on the staff was very noticeable, the extra spa tours, promotions, muster drills etc were annoying for us but exhausting for them and it showed.

Western Med by holiday

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was a 12-day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to ports in France, Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro. A wonderful itinerary (though port intensive). We took a few days pre trip to stay in Barcelona and enjoy this thoroughly remarkable city. The Celebrity Equinox is a very comfortable and entertaining ship. Due to the numerous ports of call and our late-dinner seating, we did not get to take advantage of everything the ship had to offer (mostly the entertainment in the theater). However, the entertainment in the lounges, at poolside, and in the main foyer was outstanding. Our balcony cabin was located forward on deck 10 and was quite comfortable. We did enjoy returning from an excursion and relaxing out on the balcony before dinner. Storage was quite adequate. The staff throughout the ship were very friendly and helpful. We did buy the Specialty restaurant 3-package. While we thoroughly enjoyed Murano and the the Asian Silk Harvest restaurant, Tuscan Grill was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, the overall cruise experience was totally enjoyable. Dubrovnik and Kotor were extra surprise treats that are very unique and interesting. We did 3 exclusive excursions (Pompeii, Rome and Florence) In Rome and Florence the lunch that was provided was 'hotel' food and not of very good quality. Also I would book tickets for specific sights in advance and avoid the excursions if possible. On the whole the ship was amazing and the staff was wonderful we would book celebrity again.

The ship is small but perfect for the type of trip we wanted. We got off at each port and had full days of tours and sightseeing, and wonderful dinners and dance parties in the evening! We loved that we really felt known by the staff and we formed great friendships!

Pretty, pretty, pretty good by sieg29

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Ship was well run, well organized, The only time I felt the ship was crowded was the last day, when the ship was at sea, the pool deck was packed, but other than that I would never guess that there were 4000 guests onboard. The show Saturday Night Fever was surprisingly good, variety show was alright, but I would go see it again. Liked Deck 4, it is a covered promenade ( out of the sun), quiet, and you can walk laps around the ship. The running track on Deck 11 was sometimes too crowded with people milling about to actually do any running/jogging.

We enjoyed the cruise by billiesaunders

I had no problem with the cruise itself. I found it ridiculous that I had to wait for staff members to eat and that the marketplace shut down half of the buffet before it was supposed to close.

Transient Ports! Constant flow of travelers. by Porcinet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

BARCELONA needs to be boycotted by all Cruise ship lines!!! Theft is very high, 3 passengers stolen from. Guest services very impartial. Said we should have known about theft, not their responsibility. They couldn't help. Not one post to passengers of DANGER!!!! Second. Very transient ship. Picks up new Passengers at Genoa, Marseilles ports. Like a cruising Ferry! New flow of guests constantly which makes guests very weary!!!! RCL didn't notify us of hop on, hop off status of ports nor the danger to us in Barcelona.

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship has everything you would want or need. The staff is outstanding. The food is excellent.(I gained 5 pounds) We didn't utilize a lot of the entertainment offerings since we took long side trips and were tired when we got back. It was more than we expected and that was a bonus.
