Fun way to see great destinations

Sail Date: August 01, 2013

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

Ship was huge: too big. My impression was that the "extra space" allowed them to charge for extra services rather than provide extra services as part of the regular price. The top 4 decks were dedicated to a special class of passengers, and closed to rest of us. There was an "ice bar"-$50/head, Dinner theatre (about $45/head). 6 restaurants for a fee (in addition to about 4 w/no extra fee.

The gym was large enough to accommodate everyone even on at sea days. (a plus).

Pros: The itinerary: seeing 3 Italian cities in 3 days

Cons: Food was disappointing, charged for everything (6 restaurants for a fee), bowling...

Recommends Norwegian Epic? No.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
open dining was good. Di d provide free champagne when waited (was never > 20 minutes) and always enough around to keep us busy while waiting.
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice except the small aisle was too small. We had too climb over bed to get to other end of the room (clothes and 1 end and shower.. at opposite end). Long and narrow layout was challenging. 3 girls getting ready at 1 time is impossible. The balcony seemed relatively too big--could have used the space in the room. Separating toilet, mirrors, sink and shower did help a great deal.
Service and Staff
Entertainment
Blue man group was fun. A lot of music options (dueling pianos....) . Tom Jones was pretty poor.
Children's Programs
Teens enjoyed meeting kids in the teen room and had a blast meeting kids form all over the world
