Emerald Princess cruise July 17, 2013 by Retiredcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

I have been on many cruises and would rate this one at the top. Service was excellent from first getting on the ship right down to getting off. All the ports agave a good sampling of the different countries, none of which I had been to before. We had two days in Russia and I would have been happier to have one long day there and more time in Finland and Sweden. You must take an excursion to get off the ship of buy a visa in advance so it did limit you while being in port for 2 full days. .

Excellent time on the celebrity infinity. by Viking

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Staff was very friendly and attentive. The perfect marriage of taking care of all of our needs without being overbearing and in our space all the time. Rooms were kept incredibly clean and even the inboard state rooms were a very decent size With comfortable beds. While the ship is very large, it is very well organized design and easy to get around it. Elevators were plentiful, adequate, and rarely have lines waiting. While the embarking process was amazingly fast, efficient, friendly, and easy, disembarkation was even more organized and easy. We pretty much just walked right off the ship when we were told to report to our station. Easiest disembarkation process I have ever experienced. There were plenty of bars on the ship And I really never remember having to wait to get a drink. Food quality in the formal dining room was good, not great. Food throughout the ship on the buffets was all very good and fresh. The sushi bar On the buffet line was surprisingly good, and I am a big sushi connoisseur. The nighttime shows on the main stage were fantastic. Singers, dancers, and performers were exceptionally good And I am also entertainer myself. The performers in the other lounges were okay, not great. The overall condition of the ship was very good. There were some areas where it was starting to show its age, but overall a very clean and well-maintained ship. Some of the shore excursions left a little to be desired, but they were taking surveys and appeared interested in improving it. The ship was very stable even in very rough waters. The new gym facility and indoor pool and hot tubs were a nice touch, Although I didn't care for the odors in the indoor swimming pool area. In conclusion, I definitely feel I got my moneys worth and had an excellent time. I would highly recommend this cruise line and specifically the infinity ship. I know that I will definitely sale with them again. This was my first cruise with Celebrity, but it will not be my last. They really go out of their way for repeat cruisers. I noticed that with many people on board where they had sailed with them several times before. Many of the same crewmembers stay on that ship and recognize older customers by name. That was very impressive.

Wonderful cruise! by DonnaR9

Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We love sailing with Celebrity. We would highly recommend Celebrity because of their beautiful ships, professional and friendly staff and great food. They always went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed every day of our cruise, and so far I have only seen Celebrity waiting outside of the ship to welcome passengers back from their shore excursions with either hot chocolate or hot soup (in chilly/cold/rainy weather climates) or ice cold water or ice tea (in warm/hot weather climates) and iced towels. Its so wonderful to return to this welcome and then go on the ship and go through security who says "welcome home" with a smile. As I said, I love sailing with Celebrity!

a very good experience by bradb22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The ship's condidtion was excellent. Main dining room waiter was poor. Room was excellent, clean and comfortable. the cabin attendent was exceptional. overall food was very good. A wider selection of food choices for main dining than some of the other lines I've been on (NCL and Princess). entertainment was average to above average. a lot of activities on board without it being overwhelmingly crowded. Pools were fine. Adult relaxation area was fine and they don't chare extra like Princess does. Soda was from a can so it didn't have the "bar" after taste like RCCL has. the itenerary was excellent but the cost of the organized excursions were VERY steep in several ports.

Cruise [Carnival] was great !! Baggage handling by Delta the worst !!!!!! by leon9306

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Cruise was great, Carnival worked with me even though I booked my flight direct with Delta, Delta has no customer service when it comes to a lost bag, it took 9 days into my cruise for Delta to locate and deliver my bag on a 12 dat Cruise .. If Carnival wasn't working with them to locate ,I feel my bag would still be lost. !! Carnival provided free cleaning of my clothes wntil my bag arrived they were great !!! This is the short version of the Delta Baggage story !!

Fantastic Vacation on The Brilliance of the seas by iruwa24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

On Sunday, July 14, 2013, my sister and I arrived in London from New York for a much-needed vacation upon The Brilliance of the Seas. Everything was great from the airport pick up until our final destination. Our stateroom attendant Moses was very attentive nothing was too much to ask, polite etc. Staterooms as was the entire ship were immaculate. Our dining room staff Constantine, Mr. Lofti (the wait staff Sarah, Dioney & McKoy) could not do enough for us, after learning of my strange eating habits (there was always something for me to have for my dinner.) Entertainment, food, also something to munch on, not good for the figure. We cannot say enough of how this trips was fantastic, ports of call, the highlight was St. Petersburg (which was the reason we chose this particular cruise.) In addition, our favourite cruise line is Royal Caribbean. We would highly recommend this cruise. My sisters and I usually travel together, no children.

13 night Baltic Cruise by JudyGriffith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We just returned from a 13 night Scandanavian Baltic Sea cruise. We sailed on Royal Caribbean's "Brilliance of the Seas". We have sailed on this ship twice now. She just came out of Dry Dock where they refurbished her. She looked very good. Lot's of new improvements. They haven't started the Ariel acts that they are going to have, so we were disappointed that we didn't get to see that. We visited the ports of Harwich England, Copenhagen, Denmark, Stolkholm Sweden, Helsinki, Finland, St. Petersburg, Russia, Tallin Estonia, Gothenburg, Sweden, Oslo Norway, & back to Harwich, England. We saw a lot of ports in a short amount of time. It was a hectic trip with a lot of walking, & I would have liked it to be a 15 day cruise with a couple more sea days & more time at the ports. That being said, we loved everything we saw,& had a great time. The staff on the ship was all fantastic, our cabin steward was awesome, (Alan) ,the waiters were great, the food was excellent. We ate in all 3 specialty restaurants, & they were all excellent. The first trip that we took on this ship, Brillance, to Canada, New England last Oct. 2012, we liked that cruise director & assistant cruise director better, ( Paul & Cuddy). We were hoping to see them again, as they were awesome. We liked the entertainment better on the first cruise as well. The gift shops had more, and better selections on this cruise though, than the one in Oct. 2012. Overall I would highly recommend this cruise.

Perfect getaway by SCPI

Ship: Seabourn Sojourn / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The itinerary and comfort of this July '13 Stockholm to Copenhagen cruise made for a most enjoyable and romantic vacation. We were excited to experience and learn about the Baltic. The smaller ship size, service and entertainment provided by Seabourn was worth the extra cost for us. We had 3 wonderful days in Stockholm before boarding. Most people on the ship from other continents had spent at least 2 days before boarding to adjust. It was a great opportunity to get acquainted with the history, art and politics of the region. Having most things included (i.e. alcohol, special restaurant) in the cruise worked better for us. I was glad internet is not included - it kept me away from work! The itinerary works well. Having 3 days in St. Petersburg was quite valuable. We booked with Alla Tours, which went very smoothly. Folks who booked private tours (to focus on a religious or special cultural aspect) or with Seabourn also seemed very happy. Because there is so much to see there, we took a shorter day walking Helsinki on our own to rest. Food and wine were fantastic. Plenty of indulgent or more healthy options for each meal. Why not have a glass of wine with lunch if they're pouring it? We spent time in each dining venue based on menu and how much we wanted to dress. The library was great for reading while having a coffee and pastry. The in-room entertainment has a couple hundred movies, plus documentaries and music to enjoy. There is a laundry room on board with detergent provided (I'm the kind of person who finds paying $2 on board ridiculous). The fitness center and shopping are adequate. We both highly recommend Seabourn. It was a relaxing and enriching voyage! P.S. To do it again, reading more about the history of Vikings and Russia beforehand would have enhanced the experience.

A special, incredible vacation for our family of three generations by familyadventure

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Seabourn Sojourn / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We enjoyed a luxurious cruise for 5 adults and one 15-month-old grandson. Because he was the only baby on-board, much of the crew and many guest knew him by name by the end of the trip (Odin). He had a great time. The Seabourne Sojourn staff were incredibly friendly and the 24-hour room service made it easy to enjoy the 3-generation flexibility needed. Adjoining veranda suites and balconies made it a great family trip. We booked our own on-shore excursions, less expensive that through the ship. Three full days in St. Petersburgh, baby in tow, with a guide and driver made sense and gave us flexibility. A day of kayaking in Helsinki (sans baby), and three days in Copenhagen after the cruise rounded out an incredible vacation.

baltic cruise very enjoyable by Great2Cruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The cabin was comfortable and the food was excellent on the Emerald Princess Baltic Cruise. It would have been good if we'd had more time in Stockholm but the other ports of call worked out very well. All in all, it was a very enjoyable cruise.

Amazing cruise by pugmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This was an amazing and interesting cruise. It was also exhausting. We visited 6 ports taking Carnival excursions in Berlin and St. Petersburg. The excursions were very well run although long and tiring since there was so much to see. We had a difficult time with money. Everything I had read said that ATMs were the best way to get it but in several cities, we didn't see any. I wish Carnival had explained more about where & how to get money. The Legend is a beautiful ship. I've been on 12 Carnival ships and this is my second favorite after the Paradise. The staff and crew were great. Food was okay but it is the same on every cruise so it gets a bit boring. However, the price was right and we've never really been disappointed in a Carnival cruise.

Cruising the Baltic by Manitowoccuiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Food was great! Destinations were interesting. The cabins were comfortable and well planed. Many activities throughout the day. We never turned in for the night before midnight. We loved the Centrum and the variety of entertainment presented there. Nightly shows in the Pacific Theater were very good. I chose this cruise because it started in London(Harwich) and took us to St Petersburg; both destinations in wanted to see.

Diaz Baltic Capitals Vac. by diazfam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Very nice Ship, good service, the route was good but the time in some ports of call was not enougth (ex. Tallinn, Stockholm...), The food was good, but they should have more diversity from day to day, every day was almost the same things (level 12) I understand you have the same food in the pool area (hamburgers, hot Dos, etc.) but not in other areas. You should have more variation of menus from day to day specially for people that don't eat meat (vegeterians or vegans) because you don't have a lot to choose from, and arfer couple of days of eating the same food you get tired.

To visit a different port nearly every day in Europe was fantastic by Vonnie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Eurodam is a nice ship with a great cruise itinerary. We loved every port we visited and really enjoyed all the tours we booked. The ship's staff treated us very well and on the days at sea we enjoyed the movie theatre along with the DVD player in our room with an outstanding selection on DVD's available. We enjoyed shopping on the ship although it would have been nice if they would have had more items available from the countries we visited because most of our tours had no time to shop for small gifts. We would have appreciated a better variety of food especially seafood in the main dining room and because we arrived in our room very tired several evenings the after 10 PM menu for room service could have been better. The carpet in our balcony cabin was torn into two pieces and the cabin really needed to be updated. We will never understand why thy charge such an outrageous price to buy one of the photos that they have already taken and printed. It used to be fun taken home some of the silly pictures taken on the trip but we passed up these purchases and took our own pictures. In spite of these minor annoyances we enjoyed the cruise very much.

Cruise of a Lifetime by Legalbegal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The staff was superb. The suite stateroom steward was excellent. The Sabatini's staff every morning for the suite passengers gave 5 star service and outstanding food. The amenities for full suite passengers was fantastic, daily full meenu for room service, initial free mini-bar, free laundry service, fresh fruit everyday, free canapes everyday, fresh flowers, etc The suite accommodations were outstanding. I have some mobility issues and unfortunately had to cancel my shore excursions as Shore Excursion office said that wheelchair assistant to take me off and back on the ship could not take me beyond the pier to the shore excursion bus. What a shame! The Norwegian fjords were magnificent! Sabatini's and Crown Grill both served excellent food and service! This was a fantastic trip of a lifetime on a beautiful ship!

Review of Northern European cruise on MSC Magnifica by CruisingEurope

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Magnifica / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We chose this cruise due to the very interesting itinerary from Amsterdam to North Cape. We liked the ship and its excellent facilities, our balcony stateroom, the good entertainment in the beautiful Royal Theatre, the itinerary and the ports visited and the excursions, particularly the full day excursion to the Briksdal glasier. We did not like the following: 1. Although a few staff members (e.g. Agoes Bachtiar and Heri Isankar) were very friendly and helpful, most of the staff had a serious communication problem. This can be resolved by training sessions. 2. The menus in the restaurants could be more imaginative regarding variety and tastiness. Some of the pasta dishes was not even properly cooked. We will only recommend the MSC Magnifica to friends and family once the staff is trained to COMMUNICATE better with passengers/guests.

poor service & over price for transfer $340 by acer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

After we write to customer Carnival care about all the problems, they ignore and respond no reimbursement. We were unhappy with the transfer service to and from the airport to the ship. We waited over two hours for the transfer from the airport to the ship, then at the end of the cruise on the transfer from the ship to the airport we were in danger of missing our flight because the bus driver claimed he was not directed by his agents to stop at terminal 1 despite asking us which terminal we were going to when he stowed our bags. The confusion and delay almost caused us to miss our flight. We want full or partial reimbursement of the $340 transfer cost.
