Beautiful ship & great locations except for the change they made of Santorina to Istambul, Turkey. by kmalexiou

Lived the ship, cruise, staff, food. It was excellent except for the kids outdoor areas not being opened like the sky rail zip & ropes course.

It was an okay trip as this was a first time on NCL. May be only time as we were not impressed. I had better on Carnival. Several issues with NCL main especially the Airgroup. The Customer service is pathetic. A huge waste of time as they are to prone to tell you No to everything. They lie to you about everything and are unprofessional But when you as the customer get upset they use it against you to not have to solve any issues which they were not going to anyway. So if you have to deal with customer service don’t expect to get anything resolved Becouse the robots they hire read a script which all lead to “no”, sorry you should have read the terms, nothing we can do, sorry you can’t speak to a manager, we don’t have a Custer Renton or dispute resolution desk etc etc. they lie and are willing to help. I had to email the CEO and VP who runs the customer retention and resolution desk after being lied to that they didn’t have either. Got some resolution but nothing satisfactory to having to call multiple times, being lied to, hung up on and given misinformation.

Disappointed - Get the same thing on Carnival for much less cost. by Williams0525

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic

These mega-ships are too large to provide the necessary infrastructure to accommodate so many people adequately. We pulled up to Santorini, a very small island, along with 4 other cruise ships in for the day. That's approximately 10 to 15,000 people flooding the island. Little did we know that if you just want to get off the ship and explore the island, you will not be able to tender to the island until everyone who booked an excursion gets off in front of you. We anchored at Santorini at noon and were not able to get off the ship until 4:00 PM. We missed the luxury restaurant reservation we made 6 months in advance, spent two hours on the island, and then spent another two hours walking down a 3000 foot cliff (about 1800 steps), only because the cable car line was about two miles long. It can only carry about 20 people up or down at a time. As I said, there is an infrastructure problem when these mega-ships pull into these small ports. We were extremely disappointed that we did not get to spend the day seeing Santorini. Excursions that I booked through Viator were of higher quality than anything we booked through the cruise line. It's obvious that the cruise industry to mega ships is to heard you around like cattle for as cheap as possible, while you pay out the nose for it. I will not do this again.

Family Vaca for my parent bucket list by CaliTexTravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Explorer of the Seas

Overall, the cruise was very memorable for us given our unique situation. Wish the weather was not so hot and some stops would have been more accommodating for individuals with health needs. Staff on this ship made it all worth while!! Fantastic people on the ship.

Best Vacation Ever! by kline57

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas

Best vacation we've ever taken. We flew into Venice two days early which I highly recommend. Gave us a chance to enjoy the city before we took a train to Ravenna.

I enjoyed the trip, from the shore excursion to the days at sea. Etna and Stromboli volcanoes both were steaming.

Great Overview of Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro by rjdoan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

This was a superior way to get an overview of Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro. We enjoyed the history. We coupled the cruise with three days each in Rome and Venice to get the full Italian experience. We were able to see a number of bucket-list places and the ship and crew made the traveling all the better.

Our first family cruise. by kgheeter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

As this was our first big cruise and we took our married children, we didn't know what it would be like. Everyone enjoyed the ship and some participated in more activities than others. It was a fun experience.

We had a magical trip, especially seeing the Stromboli volcano erupting, and listening to PJ sing opera as we were sailing away from the beautiful Amalfi coastline. Wonderful trip!

great ports and good service by DenisePizzuti

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Overall, it was a great cruise experience. would love to have had self-serve laundry on board the ship as they do on Princess and Oceania. Cost of having laundry done is ridiculous.

Beautiful ship by bonnie81388796

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Viking Jupiter

I enjoyed the Jupiter, would have liked to have spent more time enjoying all the ship had to offer. Because all of our excursions were very long (due to where the destination was in relationship to the ship) we usually did not get back until 5:00. The post extension was very disappointing in the accommodations.

Great time by jumpingjacflash

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Pearl

All was good. Some entertainment was better than others. Buffet was good but not great. Easy to disembark at ports. Would have been nice to have one day sailing and not disembarking.

Fantastic cruise line, packed itinerary by Alkhemy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Ascent

Our second cruise with Celebrity and thoroughly enjoyed it yet again. The quality of service and food is what has kept us with Celebrity. These EDGE class ships are as good as you can get nowadays. The process is almost always smooth for ports and embarkation/disembarkation which leaves you to just enjoy the ship and your ports in the most ideal way.

Enjoyable but not the best cruise I've ever taken by Chappellgw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

I really liked the ports visited. Went to Pompeii when in Naples, the Acropolis in Athens, toured Ephesus in Turkey, and did tours of Mykanos, Santorini and Crete. The ship was good, but the pools and hot tubs were crowded. The bands were mediocre and the dance floors were crowded (when people were dancing). The trick was to find bands like the Brass Band that most people only listened to, then the dance floor was almost empty.

Great Itinerary! by hitman1l7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

So after going on a much anticipated cruise to the Mediterranean Sea from Rome and ending in Rome. We had signed up for my time dining of which it turned out to be their time dining. To appoint to where we only ate in the main restaurant four times they assigned us 815 or later each time that by far is nowhere near my time dining, I must also add that in the main dining room. The food was substandard and nowhere near as good as it usually had been in the past the buffets were actually much better than anticipated. Our room Steward was absolutely fantastic. She was wonderful. The shows on board were quite good with a couple of new twists of shows we had never seen before. The ports were excellent and so were the tours that we took.

Not very likely to travel with Costa again by hhs999

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Fortuna

We will do more Mediterranean trips by cruises, but Costa will not be on our list because our overall experience was not very good. Our main complaints are 1) the excursions were less than satisfactory, 2) the food and service of buffet was not as good as that of other cruise lines we traveled with, and 3) the ship was a bit old.
