Review summary

We enjoyed our cruise. We chose the ship since it was newer and had the itinerary we were looking for and we were not disappointed. Although we booked two interior rooms, other people in our party booked a veranda and I highly recommend that if possible. The ship is beautiful and we never felt crowded.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We breezed through check-in. No stress for our group of 9.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We dined only at main dining and the buffet and liked the selection and quality of the food. The portions were on the small side, but we preferred this so we could try multiple items.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed a self-guided tour of the entire ship on the first day and overall felt there were lots of places for people to spread out. We especially liked Eden for live music, the Club for some dancing and the comedy shows in the theater. We also participated in Shine the Night on the Pool deck. We only used the pool on port days since it was too crowded other days.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed live music and comedy shows the best.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our teens liked the Basement teen lounge, but did note that the onboard gaming system X-Box, didn't allow for group play so they preferred Nintendo Switch found on other ships for a more interactive experience.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
ALL of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Service was top notch!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Since this was a new ship it was modern and beautiful. There were plenty of areas for guests to spread out so other than the pool deck, we never felt cramped.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We found the cabin to be spacious and modern. The bathroom was a nice size with a large shower by ship standards. Plenty of storage and the smart lighting was a nice tech feature.

Ship tip

Check out the Eden. Great quieter spot with lots of seating options at the back of the ship featuring beautiful (air conditioned) sunsets and live music.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We booked a private third-party golf cart excursion and a cooking class. We enjoyed both and seeing the highlights of the city.

Naples, Italy

3 out of 5
Naples was just a gateway for us to the Amalfi Coast. We booked a private third-party tour to Ravello, Amalfi and Sorrento. One of the highlights of our trip. Naples was dirty and rundown and not for us.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

3 out of 5
This stop wasn't high on our list, but we got off to see Turkey. We booked a third-party Jeep tour which was fun, but a little too long and we didn't enjoy the water fight. The shopping Bazar at the port was nice.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
HIGHLIGHT of our trip! One of the reasons we booked this itinerary. Santorini was VERY crowded, but we booked a third-party private tour guide to take us around.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
We stayed in town and enjoyed the many shops and eateries. Less crowded than Santorini, so great to walk around and get lost in the many alleyways.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
We enjoyed a private third-party tour including the highlights of Athens and a sunset at the Temple of Poseidon

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy and well managed.
