Review summary

Graduation cruise that my high school graduate selected. Prepare for Rome to be extremely hot and heavily crowded in July. Also, in Santorini, prepare to wake up extremely early to get in line if you plan to get off the boat and explore.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The Odyssey of the Seas is gorgeous. Clean, state of the art, very well laid out.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My teenage boys (15 & 17) have been cruising since 7 & 9 on Royal Caribbean cruises and the onboard activities are the reason why we continue to come back year after year. They have met life long friends over the years and accumulated many sport related trophies on board. As adults, there is activities from relaxation to the shows and culinary activities.

Cabin / Stateroom

I was positive that I chose a room for 4 since my teenage boys are 6'2 & 6'4 but apparently it was only for three leaving me to share a bed with one of them. Not ideal but we were fine. Also, there was a newborn and 2 year old next to use that cried all night. I've had young ones before so I know the parents cannot help it, but the walls are so incredibly thin. When I asked Guest Services if there was an opportunity to change rooms, I would even pay for it, they couldn't. After the 4th day of little to no sleep at night, I finally went to GS and asked for a solution. No solution expect an apology.

This port is a disaster if you are docked with one or more cruise ships. It is an extremely small old port and you had to get a tender ticket which the ship issues starting at 7 am that morning. The first tender boat goes at noon and finishes at 4. What we weren't aware of was that the line starts filling up at 5 am. It was a line of half the ships guests waiting for a tender ticket and the same for the other cruise ship. When we finally got off the tender boat at 2:30 we had a tour at 4. Thought we would have plenty of time to get there but there are 585 steps up and it was 95 degrees and 3000 people and 300 donkeys trying to get to the lift or up to Thira.

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

Nice itinerary. Appreciate your feedback. Sadly, cruise lines are not able to control your neighboring passengers. Glad you still enjoyed your cruise.
