Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We found the ship very tired, had visible signs of aging all over. The shows were sub par for this cruse line and boring.

Now the good news the service was excellent and the food was fantastic.

Royal Caribbean needs to upgrade and retrain their staff by tlrrcr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I sailed with RC years ago and had the best experience. I looked forward to a repeat performance and was appalled by the substandard treatment we received. A friend fell in the dining room and the staff just stood and either watched or kept working-no help was offered. On a formal dress night in the dining room, my spinach was full of sand and sent back to the kitchen to be replaced by broccoli as the chef discovered that the spinach was defintely all sandy. Several times I requested items from different staff (easy requests) but the staff appeared to be put out by my requests (i.e. my husband and I wanted to eat alone for breakfast and were brusquely informed to sit in the chair until we could be accommodated. We waited 5-10 minutes and then were seated at a dirty table with stains and hair on the tablecloth.). At breakfast one morning in the dining room, we were not treated to coffee refills or the bakery tray in 45 minutes. Finally, we found our server and made these requests. People seated after us at another table, received their food and finished their food before ours came. These were just a few of our experiences. Many of the staff were great but it seems that a lot of them could use a course in how to treat passengers and make their experience a positive one.

United Nations Cruise by JudyLee50267949

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The most memorable thing about this cruise were the other passengers.  I met people from so many different nations.  I talked with people from many European nations, from several American countries, from Asian nations, Austalians, New Zelanders, and Pacific Islanders. The people were all so lovely and easy to talk to, even if we didn't share the same language.  Further more the staff was friendly, and very competent.

I travel, mostly, to visit the world and to learn about the history and culture of the places I visit.  I find that cruising is a way to do that in a short span of time and at a reasonable price.  The places we visited took me back generations as we explored ancient ruins as well as to present times as we shopped in today's cities.

Some Great, Some Not So Great by BilMar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The Voyager had just come out of a 10 day dry dock for interior upgrades and on day of embarkation our check in was delayed over 2 hours because the ship was not yet ready to board. The first full day of our cruise the ships cruise director kept making apologies for things not being "show ready" and thanking everyone for their understanding in the matter. Several days into the cruise the pool had yet to be open and  the room attendants and ships staff were still "putting things into place."     We were in a catagory F-Deluxe Suite and were pleasantly suprised by the rooms ample size and large walk in closet. The bathroom had a seperate shower and full size tub which would have been great had it not been for the lack of water pressure in our cabin and the foul, musty oder that came from the shower drain when it wasn't in use. A mention of this to our room steward seemed to fall on deaf ears. The service on board was comparable to other cruise lines (Holland, Celebrity, Disney) and a few of the bar staff and and wait staff were expecptional (thank you Simone, Rosie, Andrew and VeJay). The all inclusive aspect of the cruise was a huge plus and and the smaller number of passengers made for a pleasant, almost private, cruise experience. For the money that we spent, we were disappointed that the ship was not in perfect order when we boarded.

Happy Memory from Beginning to End by Satisfied

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship was great, the excursions mind boggling, and the food outstanding, but the staff was even better.

I don't know how you accomodate so many different expectations of people all over the world, but you did, and you exceeded my expectations.

Thank You for making my 50th Birthday Exceptional !!!!!!!!!!!!!

wonderful experience by Mscott5363631

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was our first time on a cruise and did not know quite what to expect. Our expectations from the moment we entered our stateroom were surpassed. The layout of the room was excellent for two people. Our attendant provided us with service above and beyond. We had a problem with a electrical charger we had brought with us and she took care of it right away. This was the type of service she provided throughout the cruise. This was indicative of all the staff we encountered over the next 9 days. They were always cheerful, helpful and willing to help in anyway.

The food provided was superb,we ate every meal wondering how they could prepare

such food for so many people and have such quality every time.

The food in the cafe at the opposite end of the ship from the Windjammer was not as good but we only went there for off time lunch.

The entertainment was excellent and offered various types which left us having a choice most of the time.

They should warn of the inferior Wi-Fi service as it was almost inpossible to access from our room. The minutes we purchased were eaten up waiting for access, only to find it would not work. We were disappointed with the solution to the problem as they only credited us with what we had remaining in minutes to our account. We woulf not use their Wi-Fi again.

All in all we had a great trip and would recommend it as wonderful vacation experience.

The places we visited were great locations and the excursions to each gave us an

opportunity to explore places with a tour guide and to appreciate each one.

Journey to east Med. by BillMaryBurns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We enjoyed out stay and cruise very much.  Avoid rooms with balconies over the smoking lounge on the port side if you wish to enjoy your balcony.  We adjusted to this.  The evening shows were too frentic and loud for us (we are older and did not recognize any of the music), but we enjoyed the lady vocalist and the puppet man.

Staff is top-notch from the cleaners to the Marine Officers.  Vessel was in excellent repair, a water line broke and was quickly fixed  - these things are not judged by the event, but the professional response and full restoratiion of full service.

On land tours were excellent and we enjoyed many of them this voyage.

When I thought I had paid all the shipboard expenses, I was hit with a later charge on my debit account that I cannot reconcile, but I expect Celebrity to respond with an explanation.

We shall  look forward to sailing again with this line.   Bill/Mary Burns

12 day Med. Cruise by Minncruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall the cruise was great. Good staff-rooms clean. Felt that charges to go from ship to Venice should have been included.  Soda pop & bottled water should have been included. The shows were excellent. Embarking & disembarking went very smoothly. The food was exceptional. The bed was very comfotable & wish we had it @ home!!! Enjoyed the walking path in deck 14.

Thank you for the great experience,

Fabulous itinerary dissapointing ship. by flcruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

For a newly refurbished ship it looks old. Stained carpets, leaking hallways and ceilings. Maintenance people constantly working on things. Staff very disorganized and it appeared that there was a lack of communication between staff and departments. Staff appeared untrained. Had requested a refrigerator many months prior to our trip. This was to house my husbands diabetes medication, only to not find it in our cabin. When we asked about it we were told they did not have any communication about this and there were no available refrigerators to be had. They were all taken but we spoke with another couple during our cruise and they had a refrigerator in their cabin but never asked for it, they were using it to store extra food and desserts . We had to inconvientlly store the medication in the infirmary. Waiters in the dining room were disorganized we received the wrong food almost every night. One time we were ushered around the entire dining room because the waiter did not know where the table was. Buffet food was very poor with no variety and they served the same exact breakfast foods everyday. Our housekeeper was very sweet and kept our room very tidy. We very much enjoyed the itinerary and the excursions. Disappointed that our excursion in France was canceled.

Harvey's Review by Las

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Silhouette / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The itinery led to high expectations, but the weather plus great shows on board made the trip unsurpassable. Food was as  expected and the service also was of high quality. The daytime activities may need some add'l dynamics, but that is just nit-picking. As for the ship itself, the Silhouette was a "real beauty".

Good times!! by eurotrip

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall a lovely experience. This is my third experience with a cruise line. What's so great about this cruise? Well let's just say the delicious food, excellent service , reasonable deals over shopping and a relaxing time made the entire trip so worth it. Just minute details like the toiletries; the body lotions weren't available and so on. The best part about this cruise is that there more time on land touring all places and night time over seasBig Smile

Rating for the Royal Carribean Liberty of the seas by Jeanieatsea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was our first cruise and although the Liberty of the seas was  beautiful we found the whole experience not as expected. For gold card holders with a suite we expected a lot more than we got, there was a lack of information for first time cruisers and most of the information we obtained was from other passengers that had cruised before or our housemaid who I have to say was superb. The gratuities added on to each bill was a bit much we thought and even in the Spa where I personally had a lot of treatment, one gratuity was over $400 for a particular treatment which I thought was quite a lot as I had also tipped all the staff quite generously. Would we cruise with Royal Carribean again, probably not, a very exspensive vacation with not a lot of good times  to remember.

Don't go unless you are homeless! by msken

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Classica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I don't even know where to start! The ship was one of the ones Columbus used when he discovered America! The food was just barely edible! The breakfast buffet was a complete joke! I have never had orange juice that was clear liquid. The only saving grace of this cruise is the iternary it offered. Dany (our room steward) was very friendly but over all I would not take this cruises again unless I was homeless with no bridge to go under. BTW people are allowed to smoke where ever they want so if you don't like smoking take a gas mask with you.

Water leaking in balcony stateroom by Livewell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was my 5th cruise, 2 at Carnival, 2 on NCL and once on Celebrity.  The Carnival Sunshine was on my bottom list in terms quality of ship, food and entertainment.

- Numerous water leak from the ceiling in the hall way.  I am surprised that they could not fix the leaks.  Throughout the 9 days of cruise water leak was not fixed.

- On 2nd night of 9 day cruise, my balcony cabin sprang a leak from the celing on to my bed.  The water leak was quickly fixed but left a very bad impression.  My complain was simply brushed-off by the ship's guest service.  When you have many water leaks around the ship this may be a minor issue for Carnival.

- Entertainmnt hall (Liquid lounge), no pun intended, was very small and poorly layed-out.

- Show quality was generally poor to fair.

- Food quality was mixed, poor to fair but hand-made Pizza was excellent.

- The best part of the cruise was the ports of call.  This was my favorate part of the cruise.

Summary, I cruised on other Carnival ship before and found to be average but do avoid Carnival-Sunshine.
