First time on Princess by CaptainCook01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

First ship I've done on Princess and def nice inside and was great to watch movies under the stars and they bring you popcorn and such. One complaint was the regular balconys be up to a ba cat have a walk in closet but NO sitting area.Kinda of strange, the Deluxe Balconys have the couch and walk in closet.Service in a whole was good, had a few hiccups but nothing major .The ship layout is a bit confusing as they have no elevators rear and you have to walk dripping through the Buffett to get to the elevators. Also stair cases that lead to a blank door.Have heard many of the same complaints but it didn't effect my experience .Overall would do Princess many more times..

We had such a good time that we booked another cruise on 10/28/13 and hope that our accommodation will be as quiet and unobstructed and nice as on this ship. we asked for upgrade/meta (and wanted to pay) == but no such luck == told the ship was booked.

We cruised this ship last year and the 2.0 upgrade was a huge upgrade. Love this ship and we would be cruising year after year again if it comes back to Norfolk.

Family vacation by wenwen

Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

We just got back from our cruise on the Carnival Liberty with two of our children. WE all had a wonderful time. Our youngest daughter, 13, met so new friends that she already contacted since the trip. Our staff was awesome. They only complaint is the the port of Belize. Even though the people of Belize was so friendly and welcoming, the stop itself was not great. I would rather spend 2 days in Roatan than have to tender to Belize. No natural beaches and the town is very run down. Don't let this stop you from sailing on this cruise. Just don't waste your time and stay on ship while in Belize. The other ports of call were GREAT!!!!

Excellent Ship - Definitely Recommend by JST1234

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This ship has made me a true Norwegian fan. I had a balcony room, which was pretty good size (typical for a cruise). My family had a stateroom in the Haven, which is gorgeous. The best comparison to the Haven is the Cove in the Atlantis—it is an exclusive, tranquil section of the ship (private pool/restaurant/access to concierge), and the rooms are spectacular. The specialty dining on the ship is very good, and is reasonably priced. Everything at the raw bar was excellent. The lobster rolls at the takeout window of Ocean Blue (Zakarian’s restaurant) are very good, but the wait was very long. Also, the cannolis at Carlo’s Bakery were awesome. I liked that many of the restaurants offered outdoor seating. In terms of the entertainment, everything we experienced onboard was fantastic. I saw both Rock of Ages and Cirque. I have seen Rock of Ages on Broadway—this really was just as good. While Rock of Ages is very entertaining, it is a bit risqué; so while I would recommend it, I would also caution families with young children. The Cirque show was equally impressive. If you have never seen this kind of show, I would definitely recommend it. In terms of daytime activities, the ropes course is a different/fun experience. The water slides were great—enjoyable for all ages. The gym felt a little small, but has everything you need. Overall, an exceptional experience.

Good times on a Resort at Sea by CruiselineQ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

I sailed on the 2 day inaugural out of New York city last week. It was great to take a cab from my apartment and be boarding the ship 20 minutes later. Overall, this is a really well thought out ship (a resort, really) and there is a lot to like. Specifically: - Compared to most cruise ship entertainment, Rock of Ages was a blast. I loved the music. Note, this is an ADULT show...it does get a little racy:) - The food at Moderno Churascarria was delicious, easily the best meal I had onboard. Surprisingly, the buffet was better than I expected..and I rarely waited in line for food. - New Yorkers love their coffee and will not be disappointed. Lavazza is served everywhere. - The decor is modern and tasteful. Not exactly 'W Hotel', but very contemporary and well done. - I thought the ropes course would be boring...until I got up there. It is actually quite fun, and not for the faint of heart. Still regret not walking the plank - don't chicken out like I did. The climbing wall was also fun. - Nightlife - people were partying past 1am on the first night. Deck 8 felt like a block party with people bar-hopping and gambling. If Norwegian can address these improvements, they will have a hit on their hands. - Food in the main dining rooms was mediocre. I tried Taste and Savor - both were disappointing. - The balcony in my room was tiny. I could barely stretch my legs to look out to the view - Where is the deli? or Bagel shop? If you want a ship for New Yorkers, we need bagels (preferably from H&H:) ). - $40 to hang out in the Salt room is a bit rich. Now, throw this in with a spa treatment and I'll be interested.

2 day to Nowhere by susanlagrange

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

To Nowhere was a fantastic get away and party weekend. It was affordable for all. Food was just satisfactory. I saw many guests who could not get served a cocktail and waited or went to the bar and waited. Lost $$$ for Carnival. Myself, I had a fun time and went away with Norovirus and then gave it to my family!

A nice cruise. by jwisse1

Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was my first cruise. It was not what I was expecting. Overall cleanliness was good. Food was good. Seemed to be a lot of non functioning equipment on vessel. Crew couldn't answer questions that we thought were simple enough.

A ship of kindness by carolresa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The management of the ship is superb; employees caring; food superb; entertainment of rarely skilled level-interesting programs and presentation. The ship is a \"moveable feast\" bringing Broadway, Waldorf Astoria level offerings; Angela is a great organizer and waiter Jorge a gem. 7 plus. One is never lonely or forgotten on this ship; there is something for everyone.

Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was my first time ever going on a cruise. I was very nervous about what the trip would be like. Once upon the Ship, my concerns disappeared. The ship was clean and well maintained. The staff was great. It was a wonderful experience and I am excited about booking my next cruise with Norwegian.

OK but not up to Celebrity standards by JohnU1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The onboard entertainment was the best that we have experienced on any ship. However when we boarded the Constellation at about 1:30pm on the 1st day we were told that our cabin was not ready yet. That was OK with us as we were able to have lunch on board. When we arrived at our cabin at about 3pm even though we were told that our cabin was ready it was not. It was obvious that many of the surfaces had not been properly cleaned as the were dusty. The drawers were not only dusty but had hair in two of them. The toilet had not been properly cleaned and the shower had visible mildew. It was relatively quiet in our stateroom until the last night when someone started to move furniture at about 2:30am resulting in a loud scraping sound. As there were no staterooms on the deck above us this very loud could only have been generated by the crew. Speaking of crew, they were certainly a very friendly group who tried very hard to provide excellent service to the guests. Overall it was certainly not the best cruise we have taken on Celebrity but nevertheless acceptable.

Great and Classy by CaptainCook01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

First experience on Celebrity Cruises and they were very nice and classy.Good foods in the Buffett and even have a pasta bar to have them make fresh pasta and pick out toppings.Service was very hands on and nice while on vacation. The women seemed to dress up a lot more on Celebrity but not suit and ties for this cruise.During the day it's very casual ,not a ton of entertainment as it's more for a older crowd but plenty of nice bars and things to keep you busy.Celebrity has a very strong fan base and I see why.Treat you like a Celebrity!

Good and Bad by SheilaC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Once we got on the ship, we had to wait in a long line to drop off our bags, once we completed that process there was an annoucement made that the staterooms were ready, isthat really the most efficient way to handle this process? If they are experienced at runing these cruises, can't they come up with a much better system? The poor restaurant reservationist, had quite a few people and calls coming in all simultaneously, one person!!!!!!!! When I was finally able to put in my reservations there were several errors that.had been made (e.g., wrong times, wrong restaurant). We went to Cagney's for dinner, it was nice restaurant but it took us 2.5 hours for dinner....our waiter neglected us and we were on our own for most of the time. I had to go up and ask someone to please either bring us dessert or the bill. Still another 10 min and finally the dessert menu arrived. When they delivered the dessert, we asked for our bill right away. Most people said that if you go on a longer cruise that it is completely different, but why can't good service and smart management processes come with each cruise? Very disappointing.
