This cruise was in January so it was chilly a few days of this cruise. Not Galvestons fault, we just wont cruise from there in the winter again.

Port itself seemed a bit rundown. Dis t do anything there but it didn't look like there was much to do anyway.

This is where we sailed from so no, we didn't do an excursion. We mainly considered this the way to get to the ship.

Booked a room that allowed your car to stay for free that week. Got in on Saturday and called to make an appointment with a taxi. None would take one. The when I called Sunday morning it was a 2 hour wait. We ended up going to a paid port parking. Next time I will stay in a cheaper hotel and use paid port parking again.

Most ports are pretty much the same now days. Everyone selling the same stuff. No real deals anymore. We usually go for the ship. Next cruises (already booked and paid for) Ovation to Alaska (September), Odyssey next March. We will get off the boat in Ak. but not for Odyssey (accept for Coco Kay)

Getting into the port for embarkation day was a mess!!! Cops were not very friendly, our uber driver was trying to ask questions on where to go and they kept yelling at us and sent us back to the back of the line since we accidentally got into a bus lane so it added an additional 45 minutes. That was a bit frustrating

Drove in day before and stayed at Holiday Inn Resort on the Beach (3 Stars). Eat at the Rainforest Cafe (5stars). Used the EZ Cruise Parking and shuttle to get to port (5 Stars $$) embarkation was very easy and well organized. Faster to the fun was more than worth the value. Disembarkation was a little slow but not ports fault, custom and TABC slowed everything down. Terminal and staff was great and very helpful!

I gotta give a shout-out to the fine folks at the Galveston Terminal. Since we had priority , took 10 minutes from the time we dropped our bags , to check in , thru security and then waiting in the priority lounge. We did not use out priority upon return since our friend had a later time to disembark BUT maybe 20 minutes from when they called our zone to get luggage , clear customs , pay the tax man and be back at our truck. One of the couple's we traveled with had never cruised out of Galveston and said it was the smoothest they had ever seen. Great job guys !

Live in texas so Galveston is Galveston. Plenty to do.

Nice port but can get a little crowded trying to get in and out. Shuttle to and from parking which is nice. Galveston is a great little town with lots to do! Some great restaurants too!!
